FENGSHUI BASICS. THE 4 CELESTIAL GUARDIANS

FENGSHUI BASICS. THE 4 CELESTIAL GUARDIANS

Every time I am facing a new Fengshui auditory, the first fact to be analyzed is the geographical location and the relative location of the house of office concerning the 4 celestial guardians.

As we saw in previous articles, the first aspect to consider in our spaces is the location and the presence of the 4 Celestial Guardians.

The Chinese tradition of the 4 Celestial Guardians is a reflection on Earth of the 4 main constellation houses that create the 28 lunar houses of Chinese cosmology. Bringing this celestial configuration into our Fensghui spaces will mean harmony and good energies.?

As the tradition mentions, these 4 celestial guardians are The black Tortoise represented by the mountains that flank the back of our building, protecting it from the bad energies (the north face of the spaces). The Crimson Phoenix on the south represents the low-lying foothills and water surfaces our homes and offices are looking to. The White Tiger on the west and the Green Dragon on the east represent the low hills where the sun rises and sets, creating a perfect nest where our spaces lay and are protected.?

As an ideal location of our Fensghui spaces, our home or office would ideally be located flanked by a mountain on the back and two lower lying hills on the sides, one hosting the sunrise and another the sunset, with the lower areas dominated by the landscape and the water on the front.

Traditional Fensghui aims to find a special location from the bad energies that are blocked by the Black Turtle, being this one the most important of the 4 guardians. The ideal location aims for double protection, with a primary mountain flanking our home on the back and a higher one in the distance representing the ancestors and the extra protection.

This will create an ideal location flanked by mountains that create the nest where the Yellow dragon (our home) is settled, facing the lower landscape and the water surface.

But the presence of the 4 celestial guardians and their symbology is not limited to the exterior spaces and the protection of the outdoor areas.

The presence of the celestial guardians and the configuration of the spaces can be also implemented in our living rooms, bedrooms and offices or desks.

To find good protection while we are sleeping, we can implement this symbology in our bedrooms, flanking our beds by a headboard and the headboard by a wall, as a symbol of the mountains that guarded our homes against the back. At both sides of the bed, the Green Dragon and the White Tiger can be also represented by two bedside tables with their lamps to represent the lower wills that flank the nest where we lay safe.

In the same way, we can reproduce this logic in our home working spaces or our offices, keeping the support in our back and the presence of the White Tiger and the Green Dragon on our sides.

?Either in offices and bedrooms, it is important to stay away from windows or doors on our back, keeping the protection of a wall or a headboard. We will also try to avoid the affection of Sha Qi coming directly in our spaces with doors facing directly our beds or desks.

Even in the organization of the desk, we can keep the logic of the 4 Celestial Guardians, with the presence of the east light on our left and the fire element on the front, keeping the main protection on our back.

As it has been shown for outdoor spaces, bedrooms and desks, these strategies can be also implemented in any space. Together with the Bagua configuration will allow us to create the perfect balance into all our spaces.
