How did you first become interested in IT, and what motivated you to pursue a career in this field?
Cybersecurity is a fascinating domain. 6 years ago, I wanted a career change and I applied for a role in cybersecurity, I got it and ever since I have been learning and the more, I learn, the more fascinating it gets (for me).
?
What are some of the challenges that women may face in the IT industry?
I don't know about women's challenges in this particular field, and I cannot speak for all women, I am just one woman. I think that keeping up with the latest developments can be challenging during maternity leave, for instance.
Have you noticed any specific strengths or perspectives that women bring to the table in IT roles?
I think that each person is unique, and everyone has something to bring to the table, irrespective of gender. I don't know if in the IT field there are some strengths only women have.
Do you have any advice for a young woman eager to start an IT career??
I am not much of an advice person because I think everyone can decide for themselves, not be pushed by others. But since this person is already eager, I would rather have a question: 'What's keeping you from doing it?'
By recognizing and valuing the unique skills women bring tech industry, including problem-solving, communication, and creative analytical thinking, we empower teams and pave the way for collective success.
Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #InspireInclusion!
