Female Rivalry Is Holding You Back

It’s pretty much a tired cliché at this point, that women must always be in competition with each other.

But the truth of the matter is - we’re conditioned and programmed by society from Day One to compare ourselves to other women, to assume they’re comparing themselves to us, and to compete with them - not collaborate. We’ve made progress in the area but there’s still so much work to do!

The conditioning is real.

It hurts my heart, really, to know that we’re not yet in a post-women-tearing-down-other-women society, but I also know that it's because we’ve been operating in a system that doesn’t want us to move past that.

But we really should. Because giving into the mindset of female rivalry isn’t just bad for society, it’s bad for business!

Men have the market cornered on working together within a system that benefits them all - and it doesn’t benefit us if we stay rivals. The more you can collaborate and build community, the better off we all will be!

So let’s make a 2023 resolution to consciously deprogram ourselves from rivalry. Instead, let’s go forth with our own confidence to define our own success rather than judge other women for their different metrics or achievements. And speak up! When you see sexism, call it out! We’re breaking barriers this year.
