Fellow Friday - Francisco Ramirez, Grand Rapids Community College
What do you do at the college and why is leadership important in your role?
At our College, I help open the doors to higher education for our Grand Rapids and Lakeshore community. In my role, leadership is important to drive our College's vision forward. But most importantly, I advocate for my team members and help them reach their professional goals.
Share something you learned about leadership and said... "I have to do that tomorrow!"??
Collaboration is key. I immediately began collaborating with my cohort fellows, knowing I have much to learn from them.
Tell us about a leader that you admire.
The women in my family - Grandmother, Mother and Sisters. They led by example and made the tough choices to help all of us thrive. They helped me understand and admire the strength of a woman and for that, I will always be grateful. Their teachings will help me raise my sons into better men than their father and forefathers.
Vice President, Michigan Community College Association
