This feels wrong.
Natalie Fisher
Subconcious Breakthrough Career coach helping big-hearted, hard-working humans earn, thrive & live well.
Ok, are you ready for this one? It’s a bit much if I’m honest.
?
The term coach has never felt right to me.??
?
I still have no other good name for myself (I’m open to suggestions!) btw.
?
But I know the label of coach has always felt weird.
?
Because I’m intimate with discomfort, failure, and darkness, and I constantly feel discomfort, wonky energy, and like I’m doing things “wrong” myself.?
?
I go down dark thought patterns and dark paths too.?
?
And no amount of inner work could change that on some days.
?
Some negative thought patterns have a really strong pull and we’re terrified to admit this sometimes aren’t we??
?
Some are really hard to reprogram and can take years.
?
I call myself an “interviewing and career job search expert” but sometimes that feels like a huge lie.?
?
Because I deeply don’t care about your resume or what you put on it. I wish I did. But I care about the reasoning behind why you’re afraid to put it out there, or why you feel like YOU don’t know what to put on it.?
?
The only thing I care about is how alive you feel, and how you are contributing to the world. Is it in a way that you enjoy, you love and you know is right??
?
Not every day, but I mean most days. That you’re showing up congruently in alignment with your values and desires.?
?
For the most part, when I was on the other side of the interviewing table for all those candidates I helped to hire, I couldn’t see the realness behind their perfectly “perfect answers” and their polished “professional appearance.”
?
I think this whole culture of interviewing is making some people get hired into positions that they don’t deserve.?
?
Because those who can’t “interview as well or can’t play the game” don’t get given the chances they deserve.?
?
I know that I did it a different way, so I know it’s possible and I know it works to find a much better fit when you’re not trying to be perfect or professional, but truly are being real and honest about your own value.
?
I call myself a coach but it feels weird.?
?
Because I have a lot more questions than answers.
?
Even when I do have "answers", I seem to change my mind about them a lot.?
?
The "highest-value" thing I have to offer the world seems to be the way I do my best to move through the world as I try to have as a bare heart leading the way for realness and honesty.
?
The highest value is NOT transactional. It’s Not trying to get something from someone else, it’s simply to give for the purpose of giving.
?
That's not really teaching or coaching.
?
It's more of a "Hey, I’m still here!”?
?
I am still here and when I look around, I meet awe, despair, beauty, fury, grace, and challenge.

But I wanna know something about you.?
?
How does it feel to read this?
?
Because…
?
To be honest, I think that “coaching" in whatever form it comes to you is meant to make you feel less lonely, less afraid, and more in control of what you have in front of you. I believe that’s what most of us are in basic need of.?
?
I've been trying really hard to convince myself that it has other vital purposes, like letting people know about your value, helping them to see how you bring more of an ROI (Return on investment) than you’re asking to be paid, expanding your capacity for a bigger career, and making the money you need to live a good life.
?
Those sound like very noble and important aims.
?
And for some reason, they matter less and less to me on an existential level.?
?
I think they end up being the Bi-products that Get CREATED to help you feel less lonely and less afraid, and more powerfully in control.?
?
Because when you do you’ll be more of what the world needs.?
?
It scares me a little bit to say this, because there is a part of me that says,?
?
"If I stop telling people these are the things that we need to do to get hired, no one will want to play with me anymore and my business will die because they're all that anyone cares about."
?
Maybe.
?
But if you're still here....
?
Hey.
?
Are you okay?
?
(A lot of the time it’s ok not to be)?
?
Do you need someone to hear you? Like REALLY hear you?
?
I hear you. I’m here.
?
And I’m in this to serve. Not to have a huge following or a huge influence, but to help the people that want help from me.
And I have a lot to give.?
?
Starting with the 3-day training coming up!
I will see you soon!
