Welcome to February—2 out of 12. One month down, 11 to go.
So, how did January treat you? More importantly… how are you treating your 2025 vision and goals?
Whether you’re into New Year’s resolutions, yearly goal setting or just dreaming big, here’s a contemplation:
?? Who’s running the show when it comes to getting what you want?
Your feelings? ?? Or your commitment to something bigger—your vision, your higher purpose? ??
Your Feelings Don’t Matter. Your Vision Does.
Let’s say you want to get healthier. More specifically, you want to lose weight.
Guess what? Feelings have nothing to do with it.
? You may never feel like going to the gym. ? You may never feel like skipping the fries. ? You may never feel like showing up for yourself every damn day.
If your commitment to feeling good—being strong, energized, and confident—is in the driver’s seat, you will do it.
You might be thinking, “But I am committed. I do have the big vision. I just don’t have the discipline.”
Somehow, something always gets in the way. Life happens. Excuses creep in. Distractions pull you off course. And before you know it, you’re right back where you started—wondering why you can’t seem to follow through.
This isn’t about discipline or habits. It’s about what’s happening under the surface.
?? The Sneaky Grip of Limiting Beliefs ??
We all have limiting beliefs. Whether they’re loud and obvious or lurking in the background, they’re running the show more than we realize.
The classics: ?? Something’s wrong with me. ?? I don’t deserve it. ?? I can’t do it. ?? I’m not (fill in the blank) enough.
Different flavors, same poison.
And guess what? They’ve been around so long, they feel normal. Comfortable, even. Like an old, worn-out security blanket.
?? How can something limiting feel comfortable? Because it’s known. And the unknown? That’s terrifying.
But if you want to move forward—if you want to truly break through—you have to be willing to let go of what’s been keeping you stuck.
You Can’t Get to Texas if You Won’t Leave Florida
A wise mentor of mine dropped this gem on me last week:
?? "Wendy, you can’t go beyond what you won’t let go of."
Oof. That one hit.
“You can’t get to Texas if you aren’t willing to leave Florida. You can’t have one foot in Florida and another in Texas. Impossible.”
I mean, yeah—I get it. But do I really get it?
This is where so many of us get stuck. We set big goals, chase big dreams, make the commitment… and then we start backpedaling.
Why? Because the moment we almost break through, our old beliefs fight back. They show up as self-sabotage.
?? You finally get into a groove with your workouts—then you get sick or injured. ?? You’re crushing it at work—then suddenly imposter syndrome creeps in. ?? You’re feeling great, things are flowing—then… you start waiting for the other shoe to drop.
It’s not coincidence. It’s your limiting beliefs digging in, scrambling for control, whispering:
"Don’t leave me. I’ve been with you for so long. Don’t abandon me."
FACT: You are in control. Not them. And the only way to move forward? Let go.
You Deserve Better—And You Can Have It All
If you’re reading this, consider it your sign that you are capable of MORE.
?? You deserve better. You can have it all. ??
But first, you have to recognize what’s in the way—and be willing to start letting go. Giving yourself what you truly want might just be the scariest, most uncomfortable thing you’ve ever done.
Because what if success actually is for you?
What if the struggle isn’t necessary? What if you’re allowed to feel good? To win? To move forward without waiting for things to fall apart?
Make Limiting Beliefs Work for You (Not Against You)
I know this is easier said than done.
There are tools, techniques, and mindset shifts that can help. If you want to hear what’s worked for me, I’m happy to share.
And just to be clear—this isn’t some quick-fix, easy button. There’s always more to uncover, and once you start experiencing it for yourself, it actually becomes fun.
It’s not about “getting rid of” limiting beliefs. They’re part of you. The real power comes from becoming aware of them and learning how to use them on purpose—instead of letting them run the show.
I like to say: “Make them my bitch, instead of the other way around.” ?? Because honestly, who wants to be anyone’s bitch?
Your Next Move
Instead of beating yourself up for where you’ve fallen short, try this:
?? Give yourself some compassion. ?? Recognize that there’s more at play than just "not trying hard enough." ?? Remind yourself—you’re capable of way more than your old beliefs want you to think.
?? Let go. Move forward. Your higher self and vision won’t betray you. EVER!??
