Feeling Your Feelings: Essence and True Nature

We’re at different stages all the time, but as we progress through and begin to Transform feelings and reintegrate those into who we are, our Essence shows through.
In this case, Essence refers to the part of us that we cut off at some point in the past. Some part that we said we did not want to feel like that or was not an okay part of us. Through Transforming the feelings that come up, you can welcome that part of you back into the fold.
Essence is the parts, and True Nature is the whole.
It’s important to note here I’m still on this journey, just like everyone else. I’ve experienced many Essences reintegrated, and it’s beginning to lead to my True Nature, but I think there are many lifetimes worth of practice ahead of me yet.
To recap,
- Suppression refers to feelings we can not readily feel. They are in our bodies, but we have opted out of feeling them. Sometimes we actively keep them down.
- Expression happens when we recognize and allow or encourage the feelings to show themselves. We outwardly exercise our feelings verbally or in some physical way.
- Impressing feelings, we can experience the feeling without an outward expression which can lead to Transformation.

- Transformation reintegrates the part of us we consciously or often unconsciously have pushed away.
- Transformations lead to Essence, which builds up to a True Nature.
The End?
The journey from Suppression to True Nature is not a straight line. There’s a saying, “It’s not in the way; it’s on the way.” The thing holding you back is not an obstacle; it’s the next on the list.
Also, the lesson continues until the lesson is learned. So, don’t worry about missing an opportunity to work on something. If you miss it the first or 100th time, you’ll likely have another opportunity in the future.
Lastly, this is not the end. I believe “arriving” or being enlightened is not a field of lavender. It’s an erupting volcano of ash and fire that you’re happy to enjoy a cup of tea over the coals.
This ends this series for now, but as always, if you have any questions or want to talk further, please reach out.
