Not Feeling Well?

Here’s What You Can Do to Feel?Better

Over the last few days, I’ve felt a cold creeping into my chest. It’s nothing serious; my mindset is always, “I am healthy.” It’s a way of seeing myself since I was a kid; self-image is curated every moment of every day.

My suggestion to anyone not feeling well is to be still, go within, and accept the feelings just as they are. Only by feeling our feelings can we process and honor them and let them go.?

Feelings are a breeze when we rise above the clouds of temporary darkness and seek the Light within and all around us.

And like the trees above in God’s image, they stand still, strong, and together no matter how strong the wind blows.

Be Still In a World Gone?Wild

Psalm 46:10 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible, goes like this:

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the?earth!”

Being still empowers us to go within and to be still. But in all ages, that stillness can be a very tough place to find when our minds and bodies are busy taking care of the business of life.

Being still takes practice if you want to be great at it. The same is true for anything of lasting value, like the stillness and brilliant Light of our eternal souls.

Healthy Practices for Being Still and?Creative

Henri Matisse, the famous painter, once said, “Creativity takes courage.”

He said these words long before our minds and bodies fell into the digital world where we’ve lost the ability to be civil and get along with ourselves, let alone others with different views, skin color, and nations of origin.

Come on, people, we’re more the same than not! When you transcend the seeming suck of our reality, you have a shot and seeing the beauty around us and within your eternal self.

Healthy Practices for Being More?Still

What can you do when practicing stillness? Here are some approaches I’ve learned over the last several decades of working through the darkest days and times.

  1. Do nothing except sit or lie quietly and listen to the silence. If there is noise around you, that’s okay! Listen to them, smile, and observe it all, especially yourself. What you observe changes itself: universal law.
  2. Read something spiritual or inspirational. Instead of turning on Boob Tube, train your mind to read books. Avoid the devices that have systematically hijacked our attention spans. Take a stand for yourself, and read what moves you.
  3. Journal or write. I prefer to write in my stillness on paper even though I pound over 100,000 words through my keyboard yearly. When you write on paper, you train your hand and brain to process words that emanate from your conscious and unconscious mind, the left and right sides of the brain.
  4. Practice art. If you don’t think you’re an artist, think again. Remember when you were a child? Yes, whether it was playing make-believe, pasting crayons on your parent’s home walls, or drawing ponies in your younger years, you were and still are an artist. If nothing more, you were born to create a life of contentment and to surf the waves of emotion.
  5. Pray. Oh, the power of prayer to the God or gods we can’t see. But It and they are always there, concentric souls of Light that live in the ether for eternity. The power of prayer is magnificent unless you have the mind of a disbeliever, and that’s okay if you feel that way.
  6. Practice radical acceptance and forgiveness. When we learn to love all of our feelings and not to eat, drink, gamble, smoke, or drug our way through them, we learn to transcend life on Earth. Loving all that is, especially the people, places, or things we hate, is the entire purpose of our soul journey here.

My Last 24?Hours

Over the last 24 hours, I’ve slept well, read of the Spirit, journaled, painted a couple of digital paintings like the one below, and hacked out a poem to share on LinkedIn and here, where I am sure most people think I’m nuts.

And even though the cold is doing its best to win, I acknowledge it’s there, honor it for doing its job, and wish it move on to nobody else.

Here’s a poem I wrote along with this morning’s newest painting.

In the Circle of Souls, we find our way, Seeking joy in each brand-new day. We learn and grow, this journey we tread, With wisdom and love, we’re richly fed.
In the Light’s warmth, our dreams take flight, May we empower hearts, both day and night. With clarity’s guidance, we seek to achieve, Happiness, health, wealth, we truly believe.
Inspired by those around us, young and OLD, In the Circle of Souls, our stories unfold. With words that empower, and hearts that inspire, Beseech the stars, reaching higher and higher.

May you be still and know, no matter how you feel or where you go. It’s time for me to huff some more Oscillococcinum and Bioplasma salts since I won’t drink, smoke, or use any drugs, even though I used to before the world started calling me “Sir” and seeing me as old.
