Grit! Virtually all of us have heard this word being used every now and then in our daily conversations. Only few, very few people deeply understands what grit is and why it is of utmost importance to inculcate it in our daily lives.?
In layman's language, grit can be defined as "the courage, resolve and strength of character." Merriam Webster dictionary goes further and define grit as "firmness of mind or spirit and unyielding courage during tough times and danger."
Years 2020/21 will go down in history as the most challenging times the world has ever seen. The colossal of human lives, layoffs witnessed and economic meltdown experienced even in the world's wealthiest countries, is a misery that cannot be comprehensively narrated by pen and a paper.?
The hardest hit obviously, were budding entrepreneurs and SMEs. To those who braced themselves up and remained upbeat, they slowly but surely managed to overcome the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in their businesses, careers or daily lives if that is worth writing home about.?
Someone once said, that everyone talks about success but no one really knows how many times one falls to get to the top. As a hammer is to a nail, so is success to grit.?
Grit is what Oprah Winfrey exhibited to be one of the most popular talk show celebrities in history.?

In a nutshell, every successful person has in one way or the other failed terribly at whatever they intended to do. Giving up wasn't in their list which is why they are now in the pinnacle of success. The fight for success is not over until you say it is.?
The sacrifice, perseverance and resilience we portray for long term and purposeful goals can be described in a short and simple word as grit. That ability to see things from the scratches to the very end even when all the odds are against you, is grit. And so to you who feels like quitting, write it in your hearts that grit is what you really need. Just grit, then everything will fall into place.?
In summing up, during crisis we are all faced with two options; giving up or grit, there is no in between. To you who is stuck between a rock and a hard place, hang on there. Giving up or grit, may the chicken you pick lay eggs (pun intended).?
