Continue reading to better understand why this powerful ingredient is even useful and what is behind all of that.

Most of us in business, we strive for maximum productivity, have the mission to give a valuable contribution to society and grow beyond ourselves of what we imagine in our wildest dreams.

It may not apply to all (possibly only to the Top 5% of the very ambitious among us), but we want to feel like the GRU Speznas in our business.

There are also cases where even the GRU Speznas come into dangerous situations and take a special stimulant in tablet form with the names "Sydnocarb" or "Mesocarb", in order to temporarily increase the physical performance considerably.

Mesocarb definition according to Wikipedia: Mesocarb acts as a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, which does not act as quickly as dextroamphetamine, but works longer and has a lower neurotoxic potential.

Now, in Germany and many other countries, Mesocarb is ILLEGAL if possessed without the permission of the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (Federal Opium Agency). So we DON'T want to touch these or similar hardcore substances, that are illegal and have detrimental negative long-term side effects on our health!

Also,?we are not military soldiers, but we are ambitious individuals who want to achieve our greatest performance in our professional life and we are not on the battlefield, where life or death is at stake. Most of us, just want to feel less sleepy and have a productive day.

Perhaps you are asking yourself: "If there were a natural alternative to military stimulants that would have a good effect, what would it be?"

Good question! To put it simply, four neurotransmitters are impaired when there is a lack of sleep: serotonin, GABA, acetylcholine, and dopamine. I don't want to go into the details of individual neurotransmitters and hold a lecture. I want to get straight to the point.

One of these neurotransmitters is responsible for productivity, success, and ambition. That's Dopamine!

Dopamine and lack of sleep

With a lack of sleep, our body speeds up the dopamine production more than ever before, but why do we still feel so tired?

The reason for this is that our dopamine reserves didn't have time to fill up overnight. Also, the body increases the dopamine-metabolism to produce more dopamine. Now, this is a catch-22-situation, where the body wants to produce more dopamine, even though it doesn't have enough dopamine-fuel. So what should we do?

Since we now understand this fundamental problem, we should purely focus on replenishing our dopamine stores. The funny thing is, that most people try to drink more coffee to feel more awake. Yes, coffee blocks the adenosine pathways to not feel tired, but coffee doesn't solve the deprived dopamine state.

So, now we should find out how to support our body to produce more dopamine! Let us go to the roots.

The derivative of dopamine is L-dopa (levodopa), which is often used for Parkinson's disease and is subject to prescription. The problem with taking L-Dopa is that it takes away the task of the body to produce dopamine naturally and therefore has negative long-term effects on our dopamine metabolism. Therefore L-Dopa is NOT an option!

The derivative of L-Dopa is L-Tyrosine (Tyrosine), which is a non-essential amino acid, but is found in natural foods.

Gig side-note: The derivative of L-Tyrosine is L-Phenylalanine, which is one of the essential amino acids and is already contained in natural foods such as lentils and beans. The body not only produces out of L-Phenylalanine the amino acid L-Tyrosine but it also can produce L-Phenylethylamine, out of which most popular amphetamine-types are derived from.

L-Tyrosine is, therefore, a better alternative than L-Dopa, is available in any pharmacy and is available without a prescription. In essence, L-Tyrosine provides a similar mental focus to amphetamines or other ADHD medications but without the negative effects. Even in most fitness or organic stores, you can buy L-Tyrosine directly from the counter. The problem with L-Tyrosine is that not everyone has a positive reaction to it and it is one of the NON-essential amino acids. Therefore, I recommend first talking to your doctor or testing it for yourself on your own responsibility.

Recommended daily intake of L-Tyrosine:

Depending on your needs, take a dose of 700 mg 1 to 3 times a day.

There is also the more bioavailable version of L-Tyrosine: NALT (N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine). For NALT, take a dose of 350 mg 1 to 3 times a day, as needed.

Order L-Tyrosine by clicking here*. This is the one I'm using now and I get great results, but you can try out any other option on the market.

Warning: People with MAO inhibitors should not take L-Tyrosine or N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine.

How does that look in practice?

At the time of writing this article, I wake up between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. daily and go to bed between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. ... Sundays too!

However, there are cases where, for example, I am at an important event for longer, come home late and only fall asleep at 11 p.m. ... In such a case, I asked myself the following question:

“If I had the choice between the same sleep time or the same wake-up time, which one would it be?”

I decided to keep the same wake-up time between 4 and 5 in the morning, even if I have the chance to sleep longer and make up for my lack of sleep. Why?

Because if I were to wake up at 9 a.m. on a Saturday, I wouldn't be tired at 8 p.m. and would have to force myself to sleep early. I would rather force myself to get up earlier than going to bed earlier, since this way I have more control over my sleep rhythm.

Then I asked myself the next question:

“Assuming I only sleep 4 or 6 hours, how can I still be productive that day? I don't want to feel jacked up, but just only want to have a normal day!”

And so I came back to L-Tyrosine, which I explained in a simplified way in this article.

I would then have the following routine on the day of lack of sleep:

  • In the morning between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. after getting up: 700 mg L-Tyrosine
  • Midday between 11 a.m. and 12 noon: 700 mg L-Tyrosine

I try to limit this to a maximum of 3 times a week since L-Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid and I don't want to have a lack of sleep unnecessarily. I also try NOT to get into this situation at all and use L-Tyrosine as an excuse to go to bed late. Sleep is important.

This solution simply gives me the freedom to have more control over my own productivity, especially on the days when I really need it.

Bonus: The second natural stimulant!

As a bonus, I also combine L-Tyrosine with Guaraná.

Guaraná is a species in the family of trees and contains caffeine. But this caffeine is special!

Guaraná seeds have been used for centuries by Indians in the Amazon region for medicine and personal care. Guaraná plays a role, especially during multi-day Indian hunting trips. It is used as an energy reserve, while guarana should also be able to dampen the feeling of hunger and thirst, but at the same time strengthen concentration.

Simply said, at that time, Guaraná was for the Indian hunter like the “Sydnocarb” or “Mesocarb” for the GRU Speznas ;-)

In contrast to the caffeine contained in the coffee bean, the caffeine of the Guaraná seeds only develops gradually, since it is also bound to tannins. In order for the caffeine from guarana to be released, the tannins must first be broken down. This has the effect that the caffeine of the guarana plant is present in the body for up to six hours.

According to experience, I can say that the body also builds a tolerance to Guaraná. Therefore I recommend not taking Guaraná more than 3 days a week, otherwise, the effects of guarana will fade away.

I also believe that Guaraná has an independent effect on coffee that I consume 2-3 times a day. This means that I leave my coffee consumption unchanged and only take Guaraná as additional support.

I also only start to feel the effects of guarana after about one hour of ingestion. I also noticed that guarana has a strong drainage effect, so I make sure that I drink plenty of water (e.g. 1 glass every 30 minutes).

What Guarana Supplement I recommend?

In general, you can get it anywhere online or offline. I have tried out many different kinds of sorts, but the one of which I got the best effect was this: GUARANA by ALLPHARM*.

I recommend to open up the capsule and add the powder into a glass of water, let it dissolve and drink it. The body absorbs it better that way. I do it the same with the L-Tyrosine capsule.

So this is how my natural stimulus combination would look like when used on a day of sleep deprivation:

In the morning between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. (after getting up)

  • 700 mg L-Tyrosine
  • 500 mg Guaraná powder (with 60 mg caffeine)

Midday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. (before lunch)

  • 700 mg L-Tyrosine
  • 500 mg Guaraná powder (with 60 mg caffeine)

Conclusion

So the next time you have a lack of sleep and you still have to survive Thursday and Friday to then enjoy your weekend, feel free to try what I wrote in this article. Feel free to do more research on this topic and find out what works best for you.

It is my wish that our society will develop itself to be more healthy, productive, happy and peaceful. I try to do my part wherever I can.

Instead of accessing illegal stimulants and becoming dependent on pharmaceuticals, my goal was to present a healthy, effective and natural alternative to the world.

Try to design your lifestyle in such a way that you create a healthy environment in the long term and you don't even have to access such stimulation methods.

What natural alternatives do you use to be productive and feel less sleepy?
