Feeling Powerless In A Situation Is Not Fun!

Being in a situation where you are concerned about expressing yourself with the fear of being judged or ridiculed can feel powerless.
Especially if you have emotions bubbling up inside that is longing to be expressed.
In these situations, a few things might occur. The emotions get stuffed, or your "little person" comes out in full display from a place of reaction, like a tantrum.
Not fun to go through! I've been in both situations various times.
Perhaps you can relate to this one.
Have you ever been in a conversation with someone, and you felt gut-punched triggered by what came out of their mouth. However, being so caught off guard, your brain told you not to express your feelings, and to keep your thoughts to yourself. As a result, you experienced ten different intense emotions all at once and felt trapped inside.
Many of us have had the joy of a related encounter. I experienced something similar a while back. And boy was I inflamed inside.
The trigger was a wound that I had not dealt with yet, hidden within me that life decided to bring out—exposing it so I could see it.
Seeing it, calling it out, and acknowledging it are steps towards healing it.
I was around a few people when it occurred, so I didn't have the opportunity to go somewhere private to process it. So I decided to stuff it. The EGO wasn't going to take the chance of being shut down or judged. Just stuff that shit and act cool.
My stuffing wasn't very successful, though.
Everyone around me could feel my funk, and I suck at acting. It was uncomfortable for everyone. And I felt like I was dying inside.
I couldn't escape, and I felt powerless at that moment.
Let me grab my phone and act like I'm doing something important. Yeah, that's what I will do. I can look at my phone and pretend like I'm not bothered.
For a week, I pushed my feeling aside until I got tired of being uncomfortable and waking up at 3 am every morning.
Once I finally stopped judging myself and aligned with a healing method that I occasionally use with my clients, I felt a release.
Being human like everyone else, I can sometimes be hard-headed to face and tend to my stuff. It never feels great, however, its a game-changer when processing it healthily.
As I allowed myself to feel the intense feelings and pinpointed the source, the intensity of what I felt vanished, and a peace surged through me.
Instead of months or even years of having this heaviness follow me, I was able to process it in a week because I listened to my inner guidance, which was the uncomfortable emotions trying to get my attention.
While it's never fun to get triggered, it can be a gift to bring attention to what needs healing.
If this resonates with you, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
