Feeling Overwhelmed with Microsoft Office?

Ready to Transform the way you use Microsoft 365?

Imagine a time, not so long ago, when we would boot up our computer, click on MS Office 97 and voila, we were empowered to create, calculate, and communicate in unimaginable ways. Since those days, I've journeyed through the fascinating labyrinth of MS Excel and MS Access, not only as a user, but also as an educator and chronicler of their evolution.

Let's take a moment here. Ask yourself, are you using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and the entire Microsoft 365 suite as isolated entities? The complexity behind that question may startle you. You see, like everything else, the world of MS Office has transformed. And this transformation has been swift, demanding an adaptability that we, as humans, may not be inherently equipped to provide. Thomas Friedman offers a valuable perspective, encapsulating why our world appears to be a whirlwind of complexity and rapid advancement, leaving many of us gasping for breath.

Picture this - a race where technology, social-political shifts, and environmental changes are sprinting at light speed, and our human adaptability is left trailing. The sobering reality is, we're often unable to keep pace, and those of us who lag behind do so at an alarmingly increasing rate.

The diagram below shows that the pace of change – technological (driven by Moore’s law), social-political and environmental – is outpacing that of human adaptability to change. The bad and sad news is that often we are not coping.?The worst news is that those of us that fall behind do so at an accelerated rate.

Add to this the haunting predictions that Artificial Intelligence could replace 50% of current jobs by 2025. It's like being on a treadmill that's accelerating relentlessly, with no stop button in sight. Believe me, I empathise with this sense of being overwhelmed. After all, here I am, 57 years young, penning this message in the early hours, questioning my own ability to adapt.

Let's return to Microsoft 365. It's not just about creating a report in Excel, saving it on a shared drive and dispatching an email anymore. It's about swiftly grasping a problem, logically deconstructing it, choosing the right tool – Power BI or Excel, saving the document for collaborative input, harnessing the power of the '@', linking to PowerPoint, and leading a meeting where we delve into data and tell compelling stories.

Or imagine virtually huddling with your team, brainstorming, making collective decisions, and building ideas collaboratively, harnessing the essence of true teamwork.

You might be wondering, is all of this possible for me? Could I adapt? And I tell you, with the right guidance and the freedom to learn at your own pace, you certainly can. Over 30 years in the learning and development space, I've learned that the spark often ignites with a simple "Wow! Can I do that?"

This is your invitation to join us on a transformative journey, a voyage of growth where we, at LRMG , will walk alongside you. Our aim is to ensure that your team is empowered to tackle the pace of change, navigating through the sea of technology with the right skill set.

Our model of learning stretches far beyond merely mastering where to click. It involves recognising your staff as unique individuals - humans with hearts, minds, and souls. We're here to cultivate a culture where everyone feels they #belong, where #growth, performance, and impactful #collaboration form the pillars of our journey.

So, are you ready to start this journey with us? Are you ready to evolve with Microsoft 365 and beyond? Let's step into this exciting future together.

Think about this in rands and cents terms. Let me make a few assumptions: §?You have 2,000 employees §?Your average salary per hour for Excel users are R 200.00 §?On average ever-one of your staff will be working for 200 days per year ? What if we can save each us of the 2,000 people 2 minutes per day? ? The simple maths: §?200 days x 2 minutes = 400 minutes or rounded off 6.7 hours §?6.7 hours x 2,000 employees = 13,400 hours §?13,400 at R 200.00 per hour = R 2.68 million rands in productivity time.

Thanks Pieter Nel you sketch both sides of the struggle - the anxiety of what technology may do to jobs and the pace of change and also the opportunity to embrace it, learn develop and grow. We all have a choice here. Do we fear it or do we embrace it. I opt for the latter and so look forward to journeying with you and the team to drive my skills in Microsoft.
