Feeling 'Meta'?-Motivated

Feeling 'Meta'-Motivated

“Meta” is a such clever choice on Facebook’s part, where it comes to latest rebrand.

It not only strategically encompasses what they’ve already acquired, asset-wise, it also signifies what’s yet to come. It gets our interest peaked (if it isn’t already) as to what comes next. The meta-verse is promising to be yet another new, untapped space.

I’m enjoying watching this all unfold. And especially knowing that there are finally competitors out there that will allow us to have some choice.

That’s been the missing link here, for me, in any of these growing ventures; when there’s a monopoly, transparency lacks. We don’t know exactly how things run.

I haven’t been happy with how FB has evolved. And this is partly why I’m leaving behind the very large FB groups I spent so many years growing. I simple refuse to waste any more of my time leading in “rented” space where the landlord continues to come in uninvited, check up on me, and even lock me out. It may make sense to the landlord, in his bid to successful “land-grab”, but not to the person renting out the space. And if that analogy doesn’t make sense to you, holler at me. Because for me, it’s clear as day.

I will say this. Regardless of what they’ve done, FB’s struggles resonate in that the digital world is rapidly evolving and with that, so do its needs. It means that the people using it more rapidly need bigger & better, and companies within have to change at a finger’s snap to fit in.

I also know that healthcare will struggle where this is concerned. Because healthcare isn’t as flexible as the tech world is.

But I’m hoping we’ll someday solve that. Maybe by bringing together all of the ‘forward-thinkers’ in medicine.

I’ll leave you with the following, Zuckerberg’s words. They’re pretty motivating, IMO, because they show us that even the most successful of digital giants needs to rethink things; to evolve & rebrand.

Folding pieces of your life that aren’t working perfectly doesn’t mean failure. It means leaning into success.

“Facebook is one of the most-used products in the history of the world. It is an iconic social media brand, but increasingly, it just doesn’t encompass everything we do.”

I leave you to ponder this: if Facebook's new "meta" rebrand represents the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem & points to new possibilities that exist even beyond the tech realm, does this mean there will also be a healthcare "meta"? I'm absolutely sure of it.
