Feeling Lucky - TO THE ‘SHIP!

Wow. There is not much to say besides wow. The UNC Women's Soccer team is headed to the National Championship, and I am beyond lucky to get to be a part of it.?
The Final Four game was electric and one of the best performances from this team all season. They were relentless on offense, strong on defense, and every person on the field played out of their mind. It was truly one of the best soccer games I have seen in a long time.
I took a moment when I arrived at WakeMed to sit and look around the stadium. It was truly surreal to be standing in front of a dream I had for so long, finally there. Even if it was in a different way than I expected.?
Before the game I filmed in the locker room and got to hear Damon’s pregame speech. I stood next to the assistant coach as I got still shots of the players locking in for the game. After I got what I needed I sat and listened to what he had to say. He is truly an incredible coach - and I won’t lie… got a little teary eyed but also ready to run through a brick wall. Not many coaches can prepare a team like that. The assistant coach looked over at me and we shared a mouthed “wow.” She smiled and patted me on the arm and said, “are you ready to get in the game?” Even though she was joking, it made me smile so big and made the moment even more surreal.?Hand me a jersey! I'm ready!
I got shots that I am beyond proud of and are amazing storytelling moments. The final whistle, the postgame hugs and a new creative angle on the postgame huddle that I cannot wait to add to my portfolio. Overall, the evening was perfect (even in 25 degree weather) and Monday can’t come soon enough!
GO HEELS.
