Feeling introspective ...
Tomorrow I will complete my Certificate in Public Sector Leadership and Management Development with Memorial University, and I recently completed the fourth and final phase of the Government of Canada Management Development Program. In April, I completed a 10-month acting assignment as the Regional Director Communications for DFO NL and began a new position as Special Advisor. It has been an extended period of growth and continuous learning for me.
But during this National Public Service Week, perhaps what makes me proudest is that I am finally in a place in my career where my reputation and influence allows me to pay it forward with the next generation. It's so rewarding to be there at the very beginning as these bright and talented young men and women launch their careers in the public sector. They say that public service is not just a way of life, it's a way to live life fully. After 15 years, I couldn't agree more.
