Feeling insecure or hesitant right now? Here's how to turn things around.

Feeling insecure or hesitant right now? Here's how to turn things around.

There's been a lot of shocking news recently, globally and in the tech industry. Plus, for many of us in the northern hemisphere, winter gray has been dragging on?forever?at this point, which can so easily trigger SAD.

No worries, I am not going to pour a bucket full of toxic positivity over your head here, but I wanted to share a few simple things we can all do to keep?our spirits up – and train our confidence muscle at the same time.

Because that's basically what it comes down to:

Confidence – like happiness – can be trained,?

or as Brendon Burchard puts it:

“You get confident. Confidence is not a fixed personality trait.?

It's a muscle you build through exertion.”

?

So let's dive right in – here are a few baby steps you can take right away to kickstart your confidence training:

1.

Set a (small) new goal:?Is there something you've had on your list for a while but haven't felt comfortable tackling? It's time to show your negativity-spouting brain that you can totally do it! Plus, it may actually turn out to be more fun or satisfying than you think… ??

2.

Question your thoughts:?When your brain tells you that you can't do the thing, don't take it as The Truth. It's not. Maybe there's?some?truth to it, sure, but when it comes down to it, it's only a thought. And you don't need to believe your thoughts. You can even?change?them.

3.

Take action:?What's the first practical baby step toward your goal? You don't have to leap outside of your comfort zone; a little shuffle beyond the border is a great start. So write that email, make that connection, register for that event, whatever it is is?enough?right now.

4.

Prioritize self-care:?Great news! Taking care of ourselves is essential to building confidence. It tells our brain that our needs and wants matter. And yes, healthy meals top bubblebaths, but hey – start where it's easiest and step it up from there. Starting at all is key.

5.

Celebrate yourself:?I have said it before and I will say it again until everybody has a compliment jar or journal. For our brains to understand that doing new things and taking risks is safe requires rewards. So please, start by celebrating even the smallest wins!

I am celebrating myself today for

?? setting the goal of taking the dog to Discovery Park once a week,

?? telling my brain that no, an afternoon off won't kill my business,?

?? proving to myself that it's possible by actually going right away.

?? Obviously, a long walk in nature is also top self-care.?

So win-win-win for health, happiness?and?confidence!

?

How about you?

Let me know about the baby step you are taking today to train your confidence muscle.?Extra points for a health and happiness boost!!

I'd love to hear from you!

?

Love, Micha
