Feeling healthy and feeling good about yourself is not a luxury - it's an absolute necessity!

Feeling healthy and feeling good about yourself is not a luxury - it's an absolute necessity!

Food is fuel and if you consider exercise your tune-ups and oil changes, your body will function at its maximum healthful potential with the right balance of both, remembering that a healthy mind is in a healthy body.

Your body will follow what your mind is thinking and telling it to do.?The conscious mind commands and the subconscious obeys, your body actually believes everything you say, therefore it's important to apply positive self talk.?Our?physical health is an important part of making your life count. For many people exercise is associated with pain or too much effort and they do not like to commit to a regular exercise regime.?

Re-frame the concept of working out as my "relaxation time". Instead of being stressed every time you think about how difficult it is going to be, simply say, "It’s my 90 minutes of relaxation", "I always feel great about myself after I exercise", "Exercise makes my body stronger". It's important to acknowledge?our behaviour is driven by either the desire to avoid pain or gain pleasure. How we represent any given situation to ourselves whether we link pleasure or pain to it, will determine the force behind our actions.

Our brain is programmed to attach a meaning and emotion to a word,?the word 'diet' - it's a four letter word which can evoke a negative, restrictive, unhealthy definition to many people.?Consider for a moment that you are what you eat, literally every cell in your body is made up of what you both eat and drink, that every decision you make about what you put into your body has a major impact on both your short and long term health and longevity. Re-frame your relationship with food?by shifting away from restricted eating plans, pills or a shake only 'diet' as a form of health management, and instead towards a colourful, wholesome nutritional eating plan based on real, whole-foods and proper supplementation. Being mindful with your?food by?tasting and appreciating your food more can lead to eating less. Being conscious of the foods you?eat helps you become more aware of how it either moves you forwards to your fab weight or backwards to your flab weight.

Re-labelling your habits as?"the old me"?and?"the new me" can be begin with?creating?a pledge on stating what actions you will be doing consistently, the key word being ACTIONS. As a Fitness professional spanning over 10 years and a Wellness Coach I often hear the wishes from clients wanting to undergo change, unfortunately only few are willing to do what it takes to rework the bad habits that got them to where they are or they start enthusiastic only to give up. Without a strong resolve and an action plan with specific measureable activities set in place very little if anything will transform.?

I coach clients with setting weekly, monthly and 3 monthly goals that must align with their Wellness Vision, this gives everyone the opportunity to Master their wellbeing with a roadmap of behaviours and activities, provides motivation and makes long term success more achievable.

Here is a sample?menu to help you when you set your goals.

  1. “I will respect and treat my body as a top priority by eating healthy breakfasts, including protein sources and complex carbohydrates daily to keep my metabolism active and providing me with focus and energy to start the day”
  2. "I will exercise my body on a weekly basis of a minimum 3 days a week walking on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursdays around the Wetlands 3km circuit without stopping and I will feel physically fit and happy”.
  3. "I will take my recommended intake of daily supplements to provide my body with optimal cellular health"
  4. "I will drink my required intake of 2 litres of water every day and up to 4 litres on training days"
  5. "I will read inspiring, motivating books for a minimum of 20 minutes to feed my mind with positivity every night before I go to sleep, to encourage good quality sleep and recovery"

The mind is the master of the body. If we train and discipline our minds, the body will follow. Any change?needs awareness, combining this?with discipline and practice you set yourself up to do some great things in your life, you're?worth the time and effort.?I promise if?you take daily self care actions to look after your body, your body will look after you?..........because you and your body will be together for a lifetime and where else will you live??

Live healthy, happy and with passion.
