Helping Women in Their 40s Stop Overthinking & Feel Confident | Coffee Lover, Swim Coach & ??? Host of "More Than Anxiety" ??
How do you feel about your career?
Do you love it?
Hate it?
Is it just a J-O-B that you're keeping because it feels too late and too scary to do something different?
Whether you're in education, corporate leadership, or waiting tables, the pressure to over-perform and make an impact can leave you overwhelmed and questioning what comes next, or if this is it for you.
What I've learned moving from the classroom to starting my own business, is that career burnout recovery for high-achieving women and loving your career again isn’t just about finding a new job, it’s about knowing yourself and learning to trust yourself no matter what you choose to do.
In this week's episode of More Than Anxiety (Ep 129), I had the privilege of speaking with Lisa Parry, M.Ed. a powerhouse in education who has worn every hat from leadership and development at the state level in South Dakota to classroom teacher.
Regardless of the industry, high-achieving women often pour endlessly into others, strive for perfection, and neglect their own physical, mental, and emotional health.
Enough already.
"Until you think differently, you're never going to act differently, and you're never going to message differently."
The Mindset Shift You Need
The Mindset Shift You Need
As Lisa Parry, M.Ed. shared, It’s not just about positive thinking—it’s about shifting how you view your career, your worth, and your impact.
If you’re stuck in exhaustion, constantly giving but never feeling fulfilled, it’s time to rethink your approach.
Like many of us, Lisas battled burnout. In Episode 129 of More than Anxiety, she pointed out that professionals in service-driven careers tend to be perfectionists who crave external validation while ignoring their own needs.
But what if you could leverage these traits to fuel your success instead of draining you?
5 Questions to Reevaluate Your Career Path
If you're feeling the nudge to make a shift, consider these five questions:
You Have the Power to Redefine Success
Shifting your mindset takes time, reflection, and a willingness to challenge old beliefs. But taking the time to direct your thoughts, whether you choose to stay in your current role or move on to something that is more in line with your values and needs, will bring you more clarity, confidence, and a career that truly aligns with who you are and what you want.
The best news: You’re in GREAT company!
Start by surrounding yourself with other women who are committed to growth.
Seek out mentors.
And most importantly, give yourself permission to step back, reassess, and make the changes that will bring you fulfillment and joy, not just success on paper.
Your career should make you feel more fulfilled, not drain you.
You are capable, worthy, and in charge of defining success on your own terms.
