The feeling of been accepted into the Sierra Leone Law School

When the news of the release of the names of accepted students into the Sierra Leone Law School for the 2023/ 2024 academic year broke out; my heart was pumping like a mad tap running endlessly, I quickly took out my phone in order to watch through our LLB whatsApp group to see the list of names published and found my name to be there. That Monday afternoon last month was one of my happiest days in my life. I had prayed and asked God to be my helper in this new educational drive to achieving a career I had dreamt of becoming since i was in high school. The Interview was thorough and praise be to God, I was able to go through it successfully and answered all the five questions asked me by the panel manned by judges of the superior courts of Judicature in Sierra Leone including the Director of the Sierra Leone Law School and the Registrar. That day after the interview, I was gripped with happiness and optimism knowing fully well how I had performed in the said interview. As God could make it, it happened and it was successful.

As the next phase of my legal career unfolds, I am filled with huge optimism, though conscious of the arduous and herculean task ahead of me; I know Allah will guide me through the whole process into my bar Finals.

I know i will pass the Bar Finals and if it happens , i will be the first lawyer for the Koroma family in over four generations passed , a feat i am so proud of , yet so humble for the grace of God upon my life. It wasn't an easy ride for me to be where i am today. Hailing from a humble background, I didn't believe that i will be this far but God's destiny , hard work and perservance I have been able to beat the odds of life's destiny to achieving this and other feats. Kindly keep me in your prayers. They are vital to my success.

I am taking time off social media inorder to fully concentrate and to be mentally prepared for the long eighth months or more journey into my bar Finals. Feel free to reach me through email , whatsApp or normal calls anytime.

My dream is to become an international human rights lawyer , a radical and social justice defender in my country and around the world. To defend and stand up for the rights of everyone inspite of ones race , gender , creed or background and sexual orientation.

My inspiration to becoming a human rights lawyer is my background, and the experience I have seen first hand in Sierra Leone where basic rights are not respected and citizens dehumanized, the poor not having access to legal representation one of the many reasons for our brutal 11 years civil war in the small West African nation.
