Feeling bad? Here’s how I get rid of it INSTANTLY everytime.

It is OK to feel bad at times.

It’s fine as we are just a herd of social animals.

But getting a bad feeling now and then very often isn’t bad, right? No, it might be. I faced a lot of mental trauma last week and it made me lose all my hope. Life threw its hook on me from all the 3 dimensions (maybe even the 4th).

I got anxious so bad that I started to think only about the worst case scenarios that could happen each time.

I was in do or die mode even after losing hope.

It was specially due to the fact that it was the first time in my life I am alone, separate from my family and to make my own decisions. I believed underneath all this agony and trauma that things will change someday rapid quick that I would wonder how silly it would be if I look at it from the future.

And just as I expected, I came across this 4 -question journal prompt that you can ask yourself to solve anything you think is bad.

All you have to do is take a pen & paper or a note on your mobile and start answering them.

Answer from the depth of your heart with patience and consciousness. Only you know about you. This caught my attention when I was watching this video on YouTube and downloaded the journaling prompts and it was a life-saver.

But for now, just DO it along.

1. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM OBJECTIVELY?

Clearly state down what has happened whatever it might be.

Forget about your stress. Forget about how you feel. Forget about how ruthless it is to you.

  • You might have got punched in your face at our school.
  • Your dad might not have listened to you.
  • Your boss might have uttered some words at you.

Write it down just as it happened to you. Don’t create a meaning out of it by yourself.

This is my example of how I did this when I faced….

I just defined what happened in a clear and concise way that even a 3rd grader would understand.

2. WHAT DID YOU PUT IT TO MEAN?

You feel bad only because you categorized it as bad.

You think that it shouldn’t have happened to you this way. It’s normal to have. In at least 3–4 sentences, state what meant by that incident for you? What went wrong about it ?

It is so simple from now on after you complete this step.

3. HOW WOULD YOU COMFORT A FRIEND YOU LOVE AS IS IT HAD HAPPENED TO HIM?

Imagine you got a close friend — the one who knows you in and out.

The one who knows moat of your life stripped. Now he has this exact situation that you are facing right now. He/she is so relatable to you that you would be contextual enough to understand him and solve it.

  • How would you help him get out of it?
  • What would you suggest?
  • How can you make him better?

Saving him out can be the same as saving yourself out too.

People are great problem solvers.

When they don’t have one, they solve others’ problems. We are top class at criticizing. If it were a competition, everybody would have a gold. When he have this superpower within us why not we use it for our own benefit?

Not everybody has a right mentor who could get you out of troubles.

Why not be your own guide and mentor ourselves?

And finally

4. HOW IS IT THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU?

People have some little moments that open their eyes.

And change their perception of their whole lies. Just as you would see in a Zen story but a little bit more normal than that. This idea could be something like :

  • If today is the last day of your life, how would you live it?
  • If this is the only incident you were ever allowed to put your emotions on how would you take it?
  • How you could use it for you own side and to move up in life?

Think of ways by which you can make this incident life-changing. Answer this and see what happens.

We are caught up in this fast-paced world.

Why not we make up some time for us and respect our emotions? And how can we solve emotional problems with emotional solutions? It all lies within our reach.

It is upto us to get up and solve when needed.
