Wow! I NEVER expected that to happen.
My life was solid. I had the best thing in the world. But, sometimes life throws you something you never expected.
When that happens, all of a sudden your mind starts thinking. . .
"My world is falling apart and everything I've worked for is going down the drain."
Many of us may be feeling like this right now with the drastic, unexpected changes we have have or are experiencing over the last few years. There is a lot of change happening in many lives. You may have experienced drastic changes in your normal life from many of the different events around the globe.
Many of us have felt that our globe, our world, has fallen apart.
It may seem like our world is falling apart but like a globe, when our worlds change, we can make a new one.
To help reduce the anxiety, I'd like to share some wisdom that was shared with me last year when I walked across Spain on the Camino de Santiago.
The Wisdom of the Wise Pilgrim
The Camino Frances route of the Camino de Santiago heads west from St. Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. You are always walking with the sun at your back and seeing what lies ahead of you.
I was told to not just look forward to the west, but I to turn around and look behind me. There are many beautiful scenes you will enjoy from a different perspective. If you start walking before sunrise, which we often did, you will see spectacular sunrises. When you look back you will be able to see where you came from and the accomplishments you achieved by walking up the high mountains or the many kilometers you've walked across the open fields. I took many photos of spectacular sunrises. I can see the photos of the mountains I climbed and how far I walked. It is astonishing what I accomplished. Had I not taken the time to turn around and look back, I would have missed so much and never realized what I have accomplished.
Looking Back in Life
This wisdom from the wise pilgrim is what we should do now when we feel our current world is falling apart.
Find a comfortable place and time to sit down and look back on your world you have walked so far.
We have all achieved many accomplishments on our walks across our world. We sometimes are too focused on the destination and the direction we are walking and forgot what we've done, and where we've been.

There is a reason we don't see a lot of globes being made. The world is constantly changing. The roads and the boarders can change and then a new globe has to be created. Our world changing means we just have to create a new one, and hopefully a better one.
