Feeding of Valve for Facemasks
Elscint recently manufactured and supplied a feeding system for feeding of the valves of N95 face masks. The part was an assembled part with two parts and a membrane inside. The orientation required was flange down and the speed required was more 60 parts per minute. The diameter was 42 mm with 14 mm ht. Additionally, a 500 mm long linear track with a sensor on the same was required ahead of the bowl feeder. A cubical stand was also supplied with (+/-) 100 mm height adjustment. The customer wanted the equipment immediately and hence Elscint put it under priority and supplied within a week. The orientation was perfected in such a way that valves coming in any direction were changed and used. This unique concept resulted in a speed of more than 75 parts per minute. A sensor was placed on the linear track which ensured that the bowl feeder was switched off once the chute was full.
