Feedback From a Mutual Friend .

Hello There,

Welcome to Feedback, glad to have you!

I'm sure you're wondering who I am, what this is and why you're here. Let me start by answering those very important questions first.

This is me. My name is Jada Reed and I'm a recruiter for a living. I attended Georgia State University and graduated with my bachelors degree in Communications and a minor in Sociology. Spoiler Alert! : I like to talk but usually only when I have something Important to say.

I started this newsletter because I realized I have an interesting perspective and I'd like to share it with you.

I am 24 years old; I am apart of Gen Z. I was raised by a Gen Xer who balanced on the cusp of being a Millennial. I spent the greater part of my childhood fantasizing about my big entrance into corporate America. I didn't know what I wanted to do. I just knew I wanted to make a splash! As you can you probably imagine a lot has changed since my childhood. There has been a lot of shifts in the world over the years, all of which I've observed.

Those observations are what motivated me to start this newsletter.

As a recruiter, I get an inside look at what the companies and candidates of today are looking for and what they are willing to give of themselves to get it. The post-Covid job market is a very a interesting terrain to navigate. In this newsletter, I want to give an added layer of understanding that could help to shift the perspective of both candidates and companies alike.

Times are changing. Today's employees want a good work life balance, remote work options, growth opportunities and fair wages. Companies still want hard working, dependable employees who they can trust to get the job done. There is a record breaking number of jobs available but somehow we are hitting record levels of unemployment at the same time.

This is the disconnect I want to dissect. Each article is meant to explain what is happening in the job market and why from the perspective of both the companies and the candidates.

Any time there's a gap to be bridged, you can always count on "Feedback From a mutual friend" to clear the air.
