We worked with GLO Marine on the installation of a ballast water treatment system for our submersible barge, KARAVEG, and overall, it was a good experience. Right from the feasibility and design phase, their team showed a clear understanding of what was needed and made sure everything was thoroughly planned. They carefully considered our operational challenges, and their attention to detail from the start gave us confidence moving forward. Once we moved into the prefabrication and procurement phase, there were, as expected, a few challenges. Local logistics and regulations posed some issues, and we did run into the usual hurdles like missing parts or delayed supplies. What we appreciated was how GLO Marine’s team stayed on top of these issues, addressing them promptly.?

During the installation, GLO Marine kept things well-organized. Their project management was solid, and communication between everyone involved—whether it was us, their team, or the local authorities—was clear and straightforward. There were a few administrative bumps, like handling visas, but they were resolved fairly. Their approach to managing these situations was respectful, and we appreciated the way they kept things moving.

All in all, GLO Marine did a good job and delivered what we needed. They were professional and responsive throughout the project, and we valued their ability to manage the process from start to finish. We look forward to working with them again on future projects.

A few details about the project

GLO Marine successfully delivered a turnkey project for Dixstone Netherlands, installing two Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS) of 1000 m3 capacity each onboard the semi-submersible barge Karaveg in Gabon.

The project involved careful planning, feasibility studies, 3D laser scanning, engineering approvals, procurement, and prefabrication, all managed over 48 days on-site. Despite challenges related to local logistics and the barge’s unique requirements, GLO Marine handled every stage — from design to installation — ensuring a smooth process.
