Feedback that Counts

I've had some amazing contact by too many people to count regarding my book since its launch 4 weeks ago!

The below message brought a tear to my eye and is exactly one of the reason why my book was produced - to save lives, educate and provide hope!

My life is exposed and so is my families! This was so very hard to do! Not many have or will achieve this for the greater good of others!

'Dear Simon,

Wow - your book featured in a PTSD article in the NZ Ten 7 magazine so I ordered it. It arrived this week and I couldn't put it down.

Your words were echoing everything I've seen or heard from my husband who this week told me he feels dead inside and disconnected from the family. (I'd already noticed! He has many symptoms plus has been depressed from a SIDS event 14 years ago - his first death when we had a 6 month old daughter).

I felt stupid before I realised it was PTSD or bad depression and now need to see if we can't get some help. Thank you for succinctly writing an honest and realistic account of your experiences albeit chilling in some parts, especially the lows. I hope this finds you well and having success in life. I'm Hopeful my husband will read your book and it may help him.

I have also viewed the PTSD documentary of Ozzie officers and watched a few weeks ago fuming at the ill treatment of you all and felt angst for your frustration. A tragedy that adds to the stress. Here's hoping that things improve for all police folks, their whanau and colleagues as no one is exempt from this, it is what it is. I nearly clapped with joy at the timing of the article in ten 7 (your book) though he didn't read it of course.

Anyhow - I blabbering now , great job and thank you for telling your story. I'm scared but hopeful.

Best wishes

Lucy'

Ps. Lucy and I are in contact. To help her husband, but also Lucy as a secondary victim.
