FED's Big Week - Zahawi, Phillipson & Wilson Line Up to Speak at The National Education Summit while National Education Report awaits Launch

We are one week away from the FED's Big Week, as we hold our two-day virtual?National Education Summit - Widening the lens: Insights, Challenges?and Possibilities?from Monday July 11th to Tuesday July 12th, followed buy the much-anticipated launch of the FED 2nd?National Education Report?on Wednesday July 13th at the House of Lords.?
We are pleased to announce that the Secretary of State for Education,?The Rt Hon Nadhim Zahawi MP?will open the summit with a keynote address, followed by?Bridget Phillipson MP,?Shadow Secretary of State for Education, and the?Munira Wilson MP,?Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Education.
Our two-day summit takes a series of different lenses to long-term education thinking. We will consider how politicians build cross-party consensus as we suggest some new approaches to developing discussions about structures, and concentrate on education as a catalyst for genuine levelling up and community growth.?
We will challenge some assumptions about purpose and practice and deep dive into why some policies succeed whereas others fall at the last hurdle.?What would it take to build cross-party consensus on education policy??How will we be talking about education in 20 years' time??Levelling up –?a genuine long-term plan??For our full list of speakers and programme look in the section below.
Following on from our?National Education Summit?we will be sharing the findings of our?FED National Education Consultation?and our year-long stakeholder consultation.
Over the course of the last year the FED has delivered the largest qualitative national education consultation ever undertaken in England - 1000's of hours, across many 100's of stakeholders in multiple events, which include:
●?????20 workstream meetings involving many 100’s of experts on various technical areas under review

●?????Expert witness sessions with leaders in a range of authorities on innovative place-based approaches
●?????22 special interest group (council) meetings to consult on findings from the workstreams
●?????Workstream, council co-chairs and sector experts hosted at St George’s House, Windsor Castle to dive deeper into the consultation outputs
●?????Policy expert sessions with stakeholders, including former Secretaries of State for Education and senior civil servants from a range of departments, including the Department for Education and the Department for Health & Social Care?
●?????16 virtual roundtable events (FEDSpaces) involving upwards of 300 contributors
●?????FED education leaders and learners’ meetings with the Department for Education, the Treasury, Number 10, and OFSTED
