We wrote about the Fediverse once before, but here's a quick rundown: the Fediverse allows social media platforms to seamlessly share data with each other. Imagine using Threads and being able to follow your favorite creators on Bluesky, while seeing content from Mastodon and Tumblr. It's one giant decentralized network.

Meta is ready to get in on the action, announcing recently that Threads has started to join the Fediverse. For now, it's limited to beta users in just a few countries, but they plan to roll this out fully before long.
The biggest advantage X has against its competitors right now is its large user base and content. But with all of its competitors uniting, will it still have the advantage? Only time will tell.
