FedEx And UPS
Back with another weekend newsletter for you, a newsletter I was going to write earlier this week but some things got in the way. So I wasn't able to get to it or write this article earlier but I am here and I thought that I would write about two companies that will be very busy this upcoming holiday season. They will be very busy this holiday season, this Thanksgiving Day in the USA this month and Christmas next month since a lot of gifts will be bought and mailed to most people by their love ones during this season.
With that said I will say that both post offices from Canada and the USA will not be very busy. Now I don't know about the situation with the USPS on whether their workers will go on strike or not, so the situation in the USA is unknown to me and it will take some looking into but I will say that the situation in Canada seems grim because from what I have read or heard somewhere that the workers in Canada Post are rumored to go on a strike making it harder for customers in getting their mail.
So what are the alternatives to these postal services? Well most customers are opting to get their packages or mailed delivered by courier companies during this Christmas season. FedEx and UPS will be competing against one another for Christmas or who can attract the most customers during this holiday season and with this news in tact, FedEx and UPS will be slashing a lot of their delivery prices in order to attract the most customers when it comes to providing superior courier service.
I don't know much about FedEx other than the fact that their prices are high when it comes to deliveries while UPS seems more reasonable in some ways. UPS has a lot of retail stores all across North America while FedEx hasn't gotten any. If they do have stores then I haven't seen them yet or I haven't been driving enough within the city because I am sure that they have stores across the city let alone across the country but I haven't seen any FedEx stores thus far where most customers go to in order to get their packages delivered.
So I would say that the advantage goes to UPS in this regard because they seemed to be on the right track by setting up retail shops rather than regulating themselves to just one business sector. FedEx is good too since they have locations all across North America and around the world like UPS. DHL is another company but I think that they are not in demand as the other two companies when it comes to deliveries. None the less both UPS and FedEx are good companies but UPS I would say will have more of the upper hand.
