Fed Ex
Always try to get UPS to deliver parcels or the U.S. Postal service. Either one of these are reliable and they get packages to you on time.
I’ve recently been reminded, yet again, why I don’t trust Fed Ex. I ordered a tool from Home Depot and asked it to be shipped to my home.
Home Depot picked Fed Ex as the delivery agent and Fed Ex picked the time and date of the delivery. I had no input on the date or the time; this was of their own choosing. They sent me an email with the delivery date and the approximate time (in the afternoon) to let me know when they would be in my area.
This is all well and good. Everyone understands that they (Fed Ex) are busy but they can certainly manage their own schedules for delivery routes, dates, and times.
So I saw the Fed Ex truck outside of my house and I opened the garage door to wave at the driver. He waved back and walked into the back of the truck where he spent a good 5 minutes. I have no idea what he was about. He never spoke to me and after he emerged from the back of the truck and then he drove off. He delivered nothing to our house and I have no idea why he stopped outside of my house if not for a delivery.
I waited about and hour and called Fed Ex and went through their telephone maze to get to talk to a human being. I was told that the shipment was scheduled for delivery on 28 Friday and was on the truck. I explained that the driver had been to the house and had dropped off nothing. Again the agent for Fed Ex repeated that the package was to be delivered today. I accepted this but did not get the agents name. Later on in the day I got an email that Fed Ex switched the delivery date to Saturday 29 Aug 2020 instead of Friday 28 Aug 2020. So here is the conclusion: Fed Ex picked the date, the time and sent a truck to my address. They delivered nothing. Lesson Learned: Ask your retail agent if Fed Ex is the carrier. If you are told that Fed Ex is going to be the delivery agent ask your seller to use another i.e. UPS.
My prediction is: Saturday 29 Aug will come and go and there will be no one coming to my address from Fed Ex. Eventually I will get a notice of their having lost my parcel in transit with their apologies and some sort of reimbursement / credit. All of which will take time and trouble. Alternatively I will be notified that they “attempted to deliver my purchase†but no one was home so now “you can pick up your package at the Fed ex office†again a waste of time. It will always be an alibi with these people for why they can’t do their jobs. Someone purloined themselves an expensive package is my guess.
