February’s Voices: Courage, Change, and the Art of Ageing Gracefully
Kirti Daryanani
Multi-ethnic Wellbeing & International communication strategist | Podcast Host & Author | facilitating spaces to simplify complex challenges together.
February was way more than a love month of couples and more about the love for our selves. Which is why I really found these 3 podcast conversations insightful to unpack the causes and how to pivot from burnout from diverse perspectives :
Courageous Reflections on Burnout
Sonja van Haasteren opened our eyes to the complexities of multi-ethnic relationships and their linkage to burnout. Her courage in constant self-reflection to foster family harmony made us ponder the emotional energy required to empathize and grow amidst diverse beliefs and values. Te conversation reflected the vital power of understanding and patience in navigating life’s various roles.
Rediscovering Your Voice
Maruja Bogaard shared her entrepreneurial journey of reclaiming her voice and passion for marketing. Her experience highlights a common challenge professional women face in their 40s - juggling parenting, career, and desires, and falling into a disconnection with the self. Her story reflects as a powerful calling for women undergoing the same transition, that it’s never too late to pivot when at the cross roads of our lives to live our own narrative beyond the societal obligations.
Rethinking Ageing
Tom Verghese confronted the often undiscussed and uncomfortable realities of ageing. His insights aim to help mid-life and older populations approach later life stages and pivot with more meaning. By finding meaning in ageing itself so that we don’t “age faster” or as a limitation but as a realm of potential for joy and purpose.

At first, I did feel like an imposter but then I realised it was actually really valuable, because human feelings is under the surface of gender.
" “be gently to yourself…breath” - to others and sometimes whispering those magical words to myself. Forever grateful to have crossed paths with you exactly when I needed it the most Kirti ?" From a dynamic entrepreneur Antonio de Jesus who this shared with me, more than 15 years later.
