February's Musings
Sophie Stephenson
Time to Think faculty, teacher, and coach working with overwhelmed and overworked but brilliant leaders who want to swap perfectionism, lack of boundaries and trying to do too much with ease, confidence and fulfilment.
Hello my friend,
Can you believe we’re already two months into 2025? Time moves so swiftly, yet here we are again, journeying together. I hope you are well and your days are being filled with moments of ease, joy, and discovery as we step into the year ahead.
As I sit down to write to you, I find myself noticing a familiar feeling—the world outside seems to be moving at a different pace than what I feel within.
December’s celebrations left me longing for stillness and rest. And when January arrived, instead of feeling the usual surge of energy and resolution, I found myself drawn inward, craving reflection over planning. Perhaps you can relate.
Maybe, like me, you’re not yet clear on the shape this year will take. If so, know that you’re not alone. I’m here, moving gently through the early months, learning to honor my own rhythms rather than chasing external expectations.
Through experience, I’ve come to trust that when I allow myself to slow down, listen, and align with what feels right—rather than following an arbitrary timeline—life unfolds in ways I could never have predicted. When I let go of assumptions about what a ‘good’ year should look like, I create space for joy, new experiences, and unexpected delights.
So, instead of feeling rushed or behind, I’m choosing to embrace a gentler pace. I’m trusting that inspiration will return with the changing seasons, and until then, I’m reminding myself:
I already have enough. I am enough.
No resolutions needed.
I’d love to hear from you—how are you feeling as the year begins? Drop me a message and share your thoughts, reflections, or even just a little moment from your day. Your words always brighten my inbox.
With ease, Sophie

For those who find clarity through writing, here are a few gentle questions to explore:
With Astonishing Tenderness -?Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer
?
When, in the middle of the night, you wake with the certainty you’ve done it all wrong, when you wake and see clearly all the places you’ve failed, in that moment, when dreams will not return, this is the chance for your softest voice— the one you reserve for those you love most— to say to you quietly,?oh sweetheart,? this is not yet the end of the story.? Sleep will not come, but somehow, in that wide awake moment there is peace— the kind of peace that does not need everything to be right before it arrives. The peace that comes from not fighting what is real. The peace that rises in the dark on its sure dark wings to meet you exactly as you are. Poem shared by the always fabulous Trisha Lord?
I always love hearing how you are, what you've been enjoying reading and any sharing suggestions. Just send me an email?to share your thoughts and ideas.
I hope these reflections bring you some clarity and peace as we move through these challenging time together.
