For many children around the world, crisis is the new normal. Conflict, climate-related disasters, and forced displacement put a heavy emotional burden on children, affecting their development and limiting their future.?

This Children’s Mental Health Week, we are highlighting the importance of play and play-based psychosocial support for children facing challenges that affect their mental well-being.?

Psychosocial support is critical for children’s well-being and learning. Yet, it is often an underfunded and overlooked area of humanitarian assistance.?

We are working in 14 countries with parents, teachers, coaches, and community members to give them the tools and knowledge needed to support children through adverse events.?Find out more here.

How Freda keeps her large class learning playfully?

“Before the introduction of play-based learning, teaching was not that interesting. Teaching was not joyful. Learners were not given the opportunity to express their opinions.”???Freda, Grade 6 teacher, Ghana.? ??

Throughout most of her career, Freda's approach to teaching was a one-way street: Freda taught, and her students listened. In 2021, Freda received training from Right To Play on how to make learning more engaging through play.??

Playmakers are our group of young professionals from across the UK who support the work of Right To Play UK. As a Playmaker, you can help children to rise above adversity through the power of play through fundraising and connecting your network to our mission.??

Through a monthly contribution, a Playmakers membership enables you to give back while connecting you with a like-minded community through events and networking opportunities.??

Take on a challenge?

Are you looking for ways to achieve your 2024 goals? Take on a challenge and fundraise to support vulnerable children around the world.?

You can run for Right To Play at the Royal Half Parks Marathon or ASICS London 10k in 2024. Send us an email at [email protected] and secure your spot.?

We have limited charity places, so don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will support you every step of the way. Alternatively, if you already have a place on any challenges and would like to raise funds to help make our work possible, please get in touch and we would be delighted to support your journey.?

Your efforts can help children to access quality education, ensure that children living through emergencies and crises have the support to heal from trauma or help a girl achieve her dreams.?
