?? Introducing a new RoRo line between Egypt and Italy
The new line will launch in the first half of this year, aiming to enhance economic ties and boost trade. Operating between Damietta and Trieste ports, the line will utilize ships with a capacity of 420 trucks per trip weekly, ?it will facilitate swift transportation of perishable goods and encourage Italian investment in Egypt.
?? Land transport fees are set to increase from 30% to 50%
An agreement in principle has been reached to raise freight rates by 40%, factoring in the present diesel prices. Car owners and transport offices in Alexandria and Dekheila ports have collectively decided to impose a 50% increase in freight charges for customers, while rates will see a 30% uptick in West Port Said and East Tafria ports.?
?? Maersk launches a new service to connect the Middle East to Europe Maersk introduces its new ME8 weekly service, linking the Middle East to Europe commencing mid-February. The route, beginning from Jebel Ali, UAE, and concluding in Algeciras, Spain, includes key stops such as Doha, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Duqm, Port Tangier, Port Said, and Barcelona. Inaugural voyages from Doha and Port Said are scheduled for February 14 and 17, 2024, respectively, utilizing hubs in Tangier, Port Said, Salalah, and Jebel Ali for efficient transshipment.
