February Edition
February took off at Apollo - driving innovation, shaping the future, and delivering results that matter.
We secured a £150k HOP2 contract to repurpose oil rigs, kicked off a ground breaking feasibility study using hydrogen to power and decarbonise UK data centres, guided the next generation of engineers and pushed boundaries in offshore renewables ??
New Project Win on Offshore Hydrogen
Apollo is proud to announce that we’ve been awarded the Phase 2 Concept Definition contract for the Hydrogen Offshore Production (HOP2) project, in partnership with the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC).
Building on the success of Phase 1, this next stage takes us closer to making large-scale offshore hydrogen production a reality.
Our team will develop the design for a 500MW hydrogen production facility, using the Ninian Central Platform substructure as a template asset—demonstrating how existing infrastructure can be repurposed for the net-zero transition.
Hydrogen-Powered Data Centres
We are proud to be supporting a pioneering feasibility study into using hydrogen to power and decarbonise UK data centres.
Led by Wales & West Utilities and SGN , the study will explore how hydrogen could provide a clean, secure energy solution for one of the fastest-growing sectors.
With data centre demand expected to surge over the next decade, this study could unlock faster site development, lower emissions, and greater energy security.
Apollo: Powered by People - An Interview with Jamie Brand
We’re kicking off our new Apollo: Powered by People series with an interview with Lifting Co-ordinator Jamie Brand.
What’s it like to work as part of our team on secondment? Jamie shares his experience -keeping operations safe, tackling challenges, and the support that makes it all possible.
Transition Pieces: Is Hydrogen the Silver Bullet?
It's a big topic and one we tackled on our latest LinkedIn Live. Missed it? You can catch up on the recording below.

Apollo Featured in the SOWEC Innovation Guide
We're proud to be featured in the SOWEC Innovation Guide alongside industry innovators.
Big thanks to Offshore Wind Growth Partnership and Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult for recognising Apollo’s work in offshore wind.
We’re committed to solving challenges and driving progress.
Marine Energies at Apollo
This month, our Marine Energies Director, Nigel Robinson, took centre stage at our Pioneering Series of Lunch and Learns.
His message? Marine Energies is about more than just floating assets—it’s about delivering through-life support, tackling complex offshore challenges, and pioneering innovative solutions across oil & gas, offshore renewables and decarbonisation.
From ensuring mooring integrity to solving industry challenges with projects like the PALM Charger, Apollo’s Marine Energies unit is shaping the future of offshore engineering.

Welcoming the Next Generation of Engineers
We’re passionate about sharing knowledge and shaping the future of energy. This week we were delighted to host students from the University of Aberdeen as they join Apollo for a work experience project on Decentralised Energy Systems.
Their focus? Investigating how surplus renewable energy - like the incredible offshore wind and tidal potential around Orkney - can be harnessed to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
From literature reviews to technical analysis, our team is here to support and guide them as they develop their findings. We're looking forward to seeing their fresh perspectives in action!
