Dear Valued Readers,
Welcome to our February newsletter! This month, we’ve been busy publishing the?4Q24 & FY24 Wireless Infrastructure Report, analyzing key market trends and vendor shifts. We also released a?research note?on?Airspan’s acquisition of Corning’s wireless business, which you may have seen featured in?RCR Wireless News. ?
4Q24 & FY24 Wireless Infrastructure?Update
Our latest report on 4Q24 & FY24 wireless infrastructure confirms what we anticipated—after a tough year, signs of recovery are emerging. North America surged, Europe stabilized, and Open RAN, 5G RAN, and core networks posted solid gains. ?
However, the full-year market still declined 14% YoY, weighed down by shrinking 4G LTE investments. 诺基亚 gained share at 华为 and 爱立信 ’s expense in Q4, while the overall 2024 rankings held steady. ?
Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be a turning point, driven by 5G-Advanced upgrades, Open RAN expansions, and cloud RAN deployments. But with no major new cycle until 6G, long-term growth remains a challenge. ??
Airspan picks up Corning’s wireless business?
Airspan has acquired Corning’s wireless business, picking up a robust DAS and small cell portfolio along with a strong customer base of CSPs, enterprise clients, and public venues. This move positions Airspan as a major player in in-building connectivity at a time when network densification is expected to drive growth. ?
With CommScope and Corning exiting the DAS space, JMA Wireless is now the only strong contender left—but Airspan’s new assets could change that. The big question: ?????Can they successfully integrate Corning’s technology and relationships to redefine their role in private networks and enterprise connectivity? We break down the implications in our latest research note. ?
