New social security agreement with Serbia?

?Australia and Serbia have signed a new social security agreement that provides several benefits to both former residents of Australia living in Serbia and former residents of Serbia living in Australia. The agreement enables them to claim the respective country's age pension without having to return to their home country. The agreement also allows people to combine their periods of residency in both countries to meet the minimum requirements for a pension and get access to it sooner. Additionally, workers temporarily sent to either country will no longer be required to make double payments for compulsory pension contributions, which will improve their retirement income. The agreement is expected to become effective in 2024 after the treaty is completed and the necessary legal and administrative processes are carried out in both countries.?
