Core Logic recently surveyed 1,400 real estate professionals about the current state of the market to gather their firsthand insights.

When asked about their concerns:

• 41% said their major concern was about low housing stock?
• 38% stated high interest rates and inflation as their main concern.

However, despite these challenges, the market is expected to grow (just at a slower pace), with the current 4.1% inflation rate expected to drop slowly over the year.

This sentiment was shared among real estate professionals with:

• 57% expecting economic growth, and?
• 59% expecting rising home values.

In other words, things are looking up and it’s a great time to start thinking about acting on your long-term property goals.

But, above all else, interest rates remain the talk of the town with:

• 71% of respondents anticipating interest rates to be the major influencer on the 2024 housing market.?

So even though the RBA kept the cash rate unchanged at 4.35% in its first meeting of the year, most professionals are expecting some slight changes throughout the year.?
