February Focuses on Careers

February Focuses on Careers

For the arrival of February, the month’s focus turns a little inward for the trade: careers. There is no more fluid mobility—pun intended—than within and across the beverage industry. It’s no secret that retail and on-premise roles can lead to supplier and wholesaler roles and vice versa. It could be the “grass is always greener on the other side,” it could be a planful march to one’s dream or it could be some serendipitous event that leads to the next move. Take a look in full here . Our somm guest columnist Ryan Robinson offers insight on modes for career mobility , too.

In trade news, we take a look at the annual Connecticut Restaurant Association’s CRAzies awards gala and the Rhode Island Hospitality Association’s Stars of the Industry , each a celebration of local food and beverage talent. The pages showcase just a hint of the festivities. Congratulations to all the talented staffers and teams named, nominated, honored, and fêted—and the teams for pulling together the epic events as they do. There’s also a fresh lot of colorful market events for both Connecticut and Rhode Island in the popular and packed “Around Town: sections. Take a minute, find your teams and your brands and share: Everyone gets the chance to shine in our pages and on our site ! And, the Connecticut Package Stores Association reminds retailers of the very important reasons for staying active in your industry advocacy. An on-premise column reviews how to make the most of this important bottom-line boosting time.

I know it’s the depth of winter but spring is coming—and your spring trade shows and portfolio tastings are already getting slotted into our news coverage calendar for late February, March and April. Make sure we know what you have planned so we can cover it too. Why not showcase your teams and brands? Just reach out!
