We are back with the latest edition of the Kshema newsletter. February is the shortest month of the year, but it was packed up with a lot of action for us at Kshema. Here is a recap of everything that made it sunnier for us.?
The marquee event of the crop insurance industry headlined February for Kshema. Founder Natraj Nukala led the Kshema delegation at the 4-day convention held in Scottsdale, Arizona (USA). Debbie Stabenow, Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry addressed the convention where Kshema was the sole insurer from India. Natraj met Robert Bonnie the Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation US Department of Agriculture at the convention and talked about the Indian crop insurance sector during his interaction. Mr Bonnie was one of the prominent speakers at the convention attended by global insurance giants.?
Meanwhile, the Kshema team took the winner’s trophy at the Crop Insurance Industry Golf Tournament, which was part of the Convention.
It is time to head back home from foreign shores as Kshema launched a new testimonial TVC in the twin markets of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The TVC showcased Kshema’s commitment to expediting the claim settlement process and thus building financial resilience among farmers. The spot featured Mr. B Seemon Rao, a farmer from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh who was a beneficiary of Kshema’s quick settlement process. His claim was settled within 48 hours of intimation after Cyclone Michaung damaged his crop in December 2023. The TVC aired on multiple Telugu news and entertainment channels across the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to raise awareness about our crop insurance policies and the safety net they provide against losses from natural perils.?
Kshema at Kisan Agri Show?
Telangana’s Minister of Agriculture Shri Thummala Nageswara Rao, inaugurated the second edition of the Kisan Agri Show in Hyderabad. Kshema had a dedicated stall at the agri-show where its team spoke to a large number of visiting farmers about the importance of crop insurance. They also introduced?the farmers?to Kshema’s proprietary app I-AGRI through which they could buy industry-first insurance products Sukriti and Prakriti. They were impressed with the ease of buying insurance online and expressed an interest in learning more about the insurance products that could help protect their crops from the impact of natural perils.

Kshema is continually expanding its footprint across the country via its platform I-AGRI. The app which makes it possible to buy Kshema’s differentiated offerings – Sukriti and Prakriti, is now available in 10 states including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh apart from the Union Territories of Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. But that’s not all, the app also saw upgrades in few of its crucial features and bug fixes as well. ?
‘LinkedIn Recruit’ conference?
Meanwhile, Kshema’s relationship with technology continued as its delegation attended the?LinkedIn Recruiter 2024 programme’s #HireConnect ?event. It focused on technology’s impact on the recruitment process. LinkedIn’s team made presentations on the increasingly important role Artificial Intelligence will play in talent acquisition and its effect on recruitment strategies in a rapidly changing world.???
The Kshema delegation gained valuable insight into the future of hiring with AI-enhanced hiring protocols, resulting in quicker, more accurate candidate matches and an improved candidate experience. Our HR and tech leaders?were part of the delegation that attended this conference at the intersection of technology and human resources.? ?
Roadmap for the Future?
Rajeshnani Dasari, Kshema's Board Member addressed a Tech-Townhall to reflect upon the journey of our tech stacks since Kshema's inception. He gave a motivating speech emphasising the individual journey of all our tech teams, elaborating their achievements while exhorting the team members to keep an eye on the challenges that lay ahead.?He also stressed the importance of collaboration across teams and individuals to work towards a common goal. He also gave a glimpse into the kind of transformation we are expecting in the insure-tech domain in the next 5 years and Kshema's role in it.?
