It amazes me how reading and understanding different perspectives can shape my daily life. The way I approach conversations, make decisions, and encourage others is transformed by what I learn from others’ writings.
C.S. Lewis once said he valued reading so much that he wished mice and bees could write books—so that he could understand how they see the world.
With that in mind, here are six quotes from three books I read in February. Keep reading, friends!
?? EXILES ON MISSION – Paul Williams ?? “Fear makes us vulnerable to assimilate, withdraw, or be aggressive toward those we blame or who threaten us. Fear is the first emotion expressed after the fall.” ?? “Fear is at the heart of temptation, but its counterpoint, hope, is at the heart of joy.”
? GOD, TECHNOLOGY, AND THE CHRISTIAN LIFE – Tony Reinke ?? “Electricity travels more than 200,000 miles per second, but prayer travels faster.” ?? “Our most potent discoveries call for self-limitation.”
?? ALWAYS BECOMING, NEVER ARRIVING– David Mulder ?? “The best way to have a good idea is to have lots of ideas—and throw the bad ones away.” ?? “The problem I see is this: if the students didn’t learn the content… did you teach it?”
Which of these quotes resonates with you most? Read on, friends!
