February 2025 Newsletter
Dear Impact Collective Community,
February is Black History Month—a time to honor the rich legacy, brilliance, and contributions of Black people and communities. This month is also a celebration of love, which in its truest form, calls us to celebrate these achievements while working towards justice, equity, and economic empowerment. In challenging times, these values guide us forward. While the recent political atmosphere has brought forth uncertainties, it also presents an opportunity to come together, strengthen our resolve, and build a better future for generations to come.
At the Impact Collective, we believe that love is an act of resistance—one that calls us to reflect, connect, and take meaningful action. It’s about using our resources to uplift others, deepening our relationships, and working to close the racial wealth gap. This month, we invite you to join us for a virtual Share The Love community gathering on February 12th from 10-11 AM ET. Together, we’ll celebrate love, gratitude, and connection within a community committed to economic justice. And of course, we invite you to celebrate love and Black history with us all year long.
The Black Economic Council of Massachusetts, Inc. (BECMA) is making huge strides towards racial and economic equity with the purchase of a new property that will serve as their Headquarters and Sustainability Hub in Roxbury! This achievement was critically supported by CLTV alumni and community members, who came together over the past six months to raise over $425k! You can learn more about the?BECMA@10 Campaign and CLTV funding initiative that helped BECMA close on this property at the end of 2024. THANK YOU!
Finally, check our upcoming Collective Conversations focused on the role of gender in closing the racial wealth gap. Join us for an inspiring discussion in February with Ethan Kerr and John Poore , co-founders of Breaking the Mold. Their work empowers white male leaders to actively contribute to equity and inclusion in workplaces and communities. In March, we host Tuti Scott , founder of Changemaker Strategies and a renowned advocate for gender lens investing and women’s leadership. Tuti will share her journey in developing a gender lens mandate and discuss why it's vital for all women to take charge of their financial power.
In these times of uncertainty, hope remains our most powerful tool. Together, we can take action, build community, and create a world where love and justice guide our steps forward.
In solidarity and gratitude,
Founder of the Impact Collective
