February 2023, A Black History Month to be remembered

Many may see February 2023 as another Black History Month, but it represents much more. February 2023 represents the Great liberation of Nigeria, which will in turn have a massive impact on the continent of Africa and the entire black race.

Why is this crucial? because Nigeria is at an existential point in its history. The nation has now become the world's poverty capital, with the highest youth unemployment and underemployment at over 60% (The Nigerization of poverty - a concept where most of the poor people would come from or live in Nigeria / West Africa). Things have never been this bad in the country with economic woes, ethnic division, kidnappings, terrorism, etc (you can literally name any bad thing in the world, and you will find it in Nigeria).

With all of this, one would wonder if all hope is gone. Are we cursed or are we the curse?

The truth is the terrible state of Nigeria is a result of failed leadership over the years. Even as Nigeria has had its ups and downs since independence, our leaders have not fully been able to deliver on the potential & promise of Nigeria. Coupled with weak leadership, is also weak institutions that are not able to properly execute their duties and functions. Lastly, is complicit citizens who have either been ignorant, malicious, or decided or sit on the fence.

However, all hope is not gone. February 25th, 2023, Nigerians march to the polls to decide whom they will elect as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The choice before Nigerians is to look at all the candidates contesting, and from among them select the best who can steer the country in the right direction.

The country can no longer be ruled by people in their 70's and 80's who have no vision for the country and who have also been part of bringing Nigeria to the point where it is today. No, that is not what Nigeria needs.

Nigeria needs bold, courageous, and passionate leadership. A leadership that cares for the poor masses. A leadership that is accountable to the people. A leadership that will govern will rule of law and order. That is what Nigeria needs in this new dispensation.

The people must now realize that the power is in their hands (through their PVCs), and this will be a ballot box-based revolution, and Nigerians must be OBIdient to this call!

A new Nigeria is #POssible !!!
