Feb 2024 | 100 Days After: What's happening in Israel's startup ecosystem?

Hi LinkedIn friends,

The?7th Oct attacks in Israel saw over 10% of Israel's population drafted in the wake of the attacks, with impact on Israel's tech sector and startup ecosystem.

100 days later, in a?video interview with Vertex Ventures Israel General Partner Yanai Oron , Yanai shares more on the initial struggle for early-stage companies with the mobilisation but also?stories of solidarity from the?Israeli tech sector in utilising tech for relief support.

While investment levels in Israel have since returned to 2018-2019 levels with startups having a strong past quarter, reaffirming investor interest in the Startup Nation, Yanai cautions that less Israel startups were started?in the last 2 years and would be a dampener on recovery in 2024. He, however likens Israel's?startup ecosystem to a "coiled spring", and expects a surge in startup activity in 2025.??
