A critical measure of governments' efforts to tackle the climate crisis is underway as countries submit their new national climate plans under the Paris Agreement (known as nationally determined contributions, or?NDCs). These plans are technically due by February 2025 and some countries have already released them, though numerous nations are expected to unveil their NDCs in the months leading up to the COP30 climate summit later this year.

?

Join this webinar to hear from experts on how well new NDCs are stacking up – both to curb emissions and protect communities from increasingly severe climate impacts – and what to look out for next. Speakers will assess the plans submitted thus far and will also share what to expect from key forthcoming submissions, such as those from China and the European Union, as well as consider the next steps in driving progress toward a net-zero future.

Speakers:

  • Jamal Srouji, Senior Associate, World Resources Institute
  • Clea Schumer, Research Associate, World Resources Institute
  • Li Shuo, Director of China Climate Hub, the Asia Society Policy Institute
  • Linda Kalcher, Executive Director, Strategic Perspectives
  • Taryn Fransen, Director of Science, Research, and Data, World Resources Institute (Moderator)
