Features of Apple Iphone 7
- Design: The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have a new high-glass finish over an aluminium body and are available in two new shades - a new Jet Black finish and the normal Black finish. Additionally, Gold, Silver & Rose Gold colors are also available.
- Home Button: The home button has a new taptic engine and will supposedly be programmable by third party apps in what it does on different taps / touches.
- Water & Dust Resistant: Both the new phones are dust and water resistant with a resistance rating of IP67.
- Camera: The phone’s camera hosts the biggest improvements. While both phones have a 12 MP camera with a f/1.8 sensor and a six-element lens that is 60% faster and 30% more efficient than its predecessor, the iPhone 7 Plus also has a dual rear camera that allows for a shallow depth of field, 2x Optical Zoom and 10x Digital Zoom support. It will essentially allow you to take those DSLR-Like photos that have the subject in focus with the background out of focus. This feature will be made available later in October through a software update for the iPhone 7 Plus.
- Retina HD Display: The iPhone 7 has a 4.7 inch screen whereas the iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5 inch screen. While resolutions were not mentioned, the colors in both phones really pop
- Speakers: The new iPhones feature stereo speakers with louder volume and better surround sound.
- Ear-Pods: This one was something many rumors saw coming - Apple ditched the 3.5mm jack for its proprietary Lighning Connector which Phil Schiller sees as the future of audio output. A lightning adapter will be shipped with the phones to allow users to use their existing 3.5mm earphones.
- Wireless: Apple also introduced its own Air-Pods, wireless earphones with a 5-hour battery life on a single charge. They will ship with the phones as well as be sold separately for $159.
- Apple Pay: Apple Pay will be coming to Japan late this October. Japan’s NFC Technology Felica has been integrated into the new iPhones.
- Performance: Both phones feature a faster A10 Fusion processor. The CPU has quad cores - two high-performance and two energy-efficient along with a performance monitor that will decide which core are to be used when. While no specifics about CPU speed or available RAM were announced, Apple claims the new chip is 50% faster than the A9 and 2 times faster than the A8. The CPUs are 120x faster than the original iPhone and will allow the phone to sustain 12–14 hours of Wi-Fi / 3G / LTE Browsing on a single charge.
