MetaShoot Featured Artist: Tom Eagles
Hailing from the United Kingdom, CGI artist Tom Eagles has resided in the Czech Republic for over 20 years. With a strong focus on modeling, texturing, and materials, Tom's work rendered with MetaShoot exudes style, cleanliness, and composition. We recently had a conversation with Tom regarding his Unreal Engine endeavors and his profound appreciation for using MetaShoot for lighting and rendering.
Tom, thank you for participating! Could you enlighten us about your experience in CGI and Unreal Engine, as well as your areas of expertise?
"I have been intermittently involved in the games and flight simulation industry for approximately 12 years. Currently, I am engrossed in developing a multiplayer survival game utilizing UE 5.2, while also acquainting myself with the new 'Substrate' materials. My workflow encompasses tools such as 3DS Max, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and I am gradually integrating Maya and Substance. For real-time rendering, Unreal Engine and, of course, MetaShoot are my go-to choices."
Apart from your independent endeavors, have you contributed to any notable projects worth mentioning?
"For nearly 11 years, I have been an integral part of the Condor Soaring team. This leading flight simulator for gliding and soaring has even been adopted as the eSport simulator by the International Aeronautical Federation. My contributions encompass material development, skin textures, 3D modeling, in-game user interface design, and server-side coding for the leaderboard."
Why do you recommend MetaShoot to other Unreal Engine users??
"To be honest, this plugin proves beneficial for almost all types of Unreal Engine users. Its user-friendly interface and swift performance are its major strengths. I even employ it outside the conventional "studio" setting for product visualization. With just a few clicks, I can expedite the rendering of animations in outdoor scenes. It simply works! MetaShoot lives up to its promises, providing significant time savings, making it useful for beginners venturing into Unreal Engine as well as seasoned professionals."
"Incorporating MetaShoot into my Unreal workflow was an almost instantaneous decision. It equips me with precisely what I need—a physically realistic lighting environment that allows me to iterate quickly through lighting and material changes."

As an early adopter of MetaShoot, how has your experience been as a customer??
“One only has to visit the MetaShoot Discord forum to see the developer Valle in action!? He listens to his customers, is incredibly responsive to suggestions for feature requests, and the level of support is second to none. I have been helping out in the Discord with a bit of support where possible. It's an awesome community full of very talented individuals. The main feature for me is how interactive the developer is with the customer base. MetaShoot just keeps getting better.
