Euractiv op-ed: why Europe must prepare to defend itself
ASD President Guillaume Faury and Secretary General Jan Pie published an op-ed in Euractiv titled “Europe must prepare to defend itself before it is too late”, calling for urgent action?to enhance Europe's defence capabilities?in the wake of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine and of the vulnerabilities caused by decades of underinvestment in its defence resources. They call for increased investment, prioritisation of European-made defence products, and bold action from the EU and Member States to ensure strategic autonomy and security.
Integrated Product Support experts gathered in Brussels
Held in Brussels from 23 to 26 September, the S1000D & IPS User Forum 2024 attracted over 400 experts on Integrated Product Support from 28 countries?– from the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia. More than 90 companies were represented, as well as stakeholders from ministries of defence, NATO, the European Defence Agency, and partners AIA, and ATA/A4A – solidifying the forum’s position as the premier global event for Integrated Product Support, S1000D, and the broader S-Series specifications community.

With more than 70 sessions over the four days, the forum provided opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange, the sharing of practical insights, actionable takeaways, and a vision for advancing Integrated Product Support across aerospace, defence, and other high-complexity industries.
?Launch of S-Series.org
A highlight of the S1000D & IPS User Forum was the launch of a major upgrade to the online presence of the S-Series specifications. In close collaboration with American counterpart, AIA, ASD developed the website as a reimagined, modernised, and secure central hub for information on all S-Series specifications.
