Feature 13: Product Lifecycle Management and Business Processes

Today we will not talk about a new feature, but we will talk about a license configuration key that, if enabled, it will allow you to manage the Enabled Business Process fast tab for each Product Lifecycle State.

The licence key is the one below: engineering change management.

You can use the Enabled business processes FastTab to manage which business processes can be used with products in the current lifecycle state. The listed processes are automatically found when you save a new lifecycle state. To update the list with new processes, select Check for updates on the Action Pane.

Fields:

• Process: Name of the business process (read-only).
• Process area: Name of the process area (read-only).
• Policy: Controls process permission. You can choose between: Enabled: Allowed; Blocked: Not allowed; an error is shown if attempted; Enabled with warning: Allowed with a warning.

For custom lifecycle state rules, select Refresh processes in the upper pane (admin only).

This feature is really helpful if you need to manage different processes with the lifecycle stages; so you will be able to block the purchase, but not the sale of the specific item. If you wanna see also a video of how to enable the Fast tab, here the link.
