The Feast of Trumpets

Hello Friends, 

In 2016, the Feast of Trumpets occur on October 3-4, which are the Hebrew dates of Tishri 1-2. In Leviticus 23, there are seven feasts of the Lord; Passover, Unleavened Bread, FirstFruits, Shavuot, Trumpets, Yom Kippur, and Tabernacles. The Feast of Trumpets is the fifth feast, and the first of the three unfulfilled fall feasts; Trumpets, Yom Kippur, and Tabernacles. It is important to understand that just as Messiah fulfilled the first four feasts of the Lord at His First Coming, Passover (died), Unleavened Bread (buried), FirstFruits (resurrected), and Shavuot (Holy Spirit poured out), He will also fulfill the three fall feasts at His Second Coming; Trumpets (repentance), Yom Kippur (redemption), and Tabernacles (rejoicing). Additionally, just as the first four feasts of the Lord were fulfilled in the exact order of Leviticus 23, the three fall feasts will also be fulfilled in the exact order, as well. In other words, just as Messiah’s resurrection (FirstFruits) could not have occurred before His crucifixion (Passover), or the pouring out of His holy spirit (Shavuot) before FirstFruits (resurrection), the same will be true for the three fall feasts; Trumpets, Yom Kippur, and Tabernacles. The Feast of Trumpets will be prophetically fulfilled before the Feast of Yom Kippur, and the Feast of Yom Kippur before The Feast of Tabernacles. Assuredly, the Lord does not change and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and His Torah, including Leviticus 23, will not come back to Him void.

Malachi 3:6, “For I am the Lord, I do not change."

Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

Isaiah 55:11, "So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

Romans 3:31, “Do we then make void the Torah though faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the Torah."

Matthew 5:17-18, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Torah till all is fulfilled."

The Feast of Trumpets is also called Rosh Hashanah, which means the “Head of the Year,” or the beginning of the Jewish New Year. It is the first day on the civil calendar, and it is when Adam first opened his eyes. (Please note, the religious calendar begins on Nisan 1 - March/Apr).

The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) also has different “idioms,” which are events that will occur on this day at the end of the age, Messiah’s Second Coming events. It is imperative to understand that I am not setting dates in any way, but Messiah commanded us to watch (Luke 21:36) and understand the "times and the seasons" (1 Thessalonians 5:1-4), which include His three fall feasts in Leviticus 23. Before we explore the idioms (events) of the Feast of Trumpets, keep in mind that these events could be fulfilled on the same year during the tribulation period, or they could be spread out over the seven years, with one event being fulfilled on each blast on Rosh Hashanah. Now, let us discover the idioms of the Feast of Trumpets!

Leviticus 23:1-2, "And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The divine appointments of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be dress rehearsals, these are My divine appointments."

(I have substituted the Hebrew meaning of the words feast (mo’ed), which is a divine appointment (Strong's#4150), and holy convocations (miqra), which is a dress rehearsal (Strong's #4744)

In Leviticus 23, the Lord commanded Moses to prophesy to the children of Israel about His feasts. Please note, these are not Israel’s feasts or the Jewish people’s feasts, but God’s feasts. So, if you are saved by Yeshua (Jesus), you are grafted into the commonwealth of Israel (Romans 11, Ephesians 2:11-13), and you are Abraham’s seed as well (Galatians 3:26-29), thus, heirs to the everlasting promises, including the Lord’s feasts. 

The Lord declares that the feasts are His "divine appointments,” and they are to be "dress rehearsals" so that His children (you and me) can understand when Messiah will intercede with mankind and human history. Amazingly, God Almighty has preordained Messiah’s First and Second Coming events in correlation with the seven feasts of the Lord! 

In the book of Revelation, the apostle John writes that Jesus (Yeshua) is the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8). What does this mean? God Almighty is proclaiming that He is the Ruler of the Universe who preordains and controls everything according to His divine purpose and will, including His Son’s death! It would be foolish to believe that God was not in control of Jesus’ death at His First Coming and had to go to “plan B.” This “mindset” would minimize God’s righteous sovereignty, His divine being, and His omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent ways. Certainly, God preordained Messiah’s First Coming events in correlation to the first four feasts in Leviticus 23. Not only that, but He inspired King Davis to write the songs of His son’s death a thousand years in advance! (Hallel - Psalms 113-118). So, just as God prophesied about Messiah's First Coming events (four spring feasts) in Leviticus 23, He also prophesied about Messiah’s Second Coming events via the three fall feasts!

The Feast of Trumpets/Rosh Hashanah/Yom Teruah

Leviticus 23:23-24,"Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month (Tishri 1), you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation (dress rehearsal)."

Tishri 1 (Rosh Hashanah), begins the holiest month of the year (Tishri). God commanded the Feast of Trumpets to be a memorial, or a "dress rehearsal.” When most believers think of trumpets, the book of Revelation comes to mind, and as we will discover, these idioms (events) directly correlate to the Feast of Trumpets. Why is the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) important? Because the Holy Bible explains that God will reward those who recognize the sound of the trumpet!

Psalm 89:15-16, "Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, and in Your righteousness they are exalted."

The Feast of Trumpets idioms (events) that will occur on this day (Tishri 1-2), on God’s appointed year:

1. The day of the awakening blast 
2. The time of Jacob's trouble
3. The day of judgment (the opening of the books, the opening of the gates)
4. The hidden day
5. The wedding of Messiah 
6. The coronation of Messiah.

The Feast of Trumpets - The Day of the Awakening Blast/ Teruah/Natsaw/Rapture

Psalms 47:5, "God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet."

Yom Teruah, which is another name for the Feast of Trumpets, means “shout, blow, alarm, or blast (Strong’s 8643).” This references the preordained divine appointment (Trumpets), the day of the awakening blast (Rapture). 

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord."

The apostle Paul is referring to the "Rapture" when he speaks of the saints being "caught up in the air." This event will occur on the Feast of Trumpets when "the Lord descends with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God." It is important to understand that the saints "meet the Lord in the air," confirming this event is the Rapture and not Messiah's Second Coming, which occurs on the Feast of Yom Kippur. At Messiah’s Second Coming (Yom Kippur), He places His feet on the Mount of Olives. (Zechariah 14:4). In other words, the Rapture and the Second Coming are two different events, as the Rapture is the “catching away of the saints as we meet the Lord in the air,” and the Second Coming is when “Messiah places His feet on the Mount of Olives." Just as Adam rose from the dust on this day and opened his eyes, the dead in Messiah will rise on this very day from the dust of the earth, as well! On God's appointed year, when the "trumpet of God" sounds (the day of the awakening blast/Teruah), those who are saved in Messiah, dead and alive, will be “caught up in the air to meet Him!"

Isaiah 26:19, "Your dead shall live; together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing (Trumpets/Teruah), you who dwell in dust; For your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead."

Ephesians 5:14, "Therefore He says: 'Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light."

To further understand the Rapture (Natsaw), let us discover how the Feast of Trumpets became a two day feast (Tishri 1-2, October 3-4). It is a two day feast because of the "Diaspora," or the scattering of the children of Israel after the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonian Empire (Jeremiah 25). The Feast of Trumpets is the only feast that is celebrated on the new moon. Once the leaders confirmed what day the new moon fell on, they could mark the beginning of the Feast of Trumpets and the other feasts, as well.

However, because the children of Israel were scattered among the nations after the destruction of Jerusalem, the only way they could communicate with one another and observe the Feast of Trumpets was by lighting fires on the mountaintops. Nevertheless, by the time they were able to spread the word and observe the Feast of Trumpets, the day was over. So, the Feast of Trumpets was observed for two days to ensure that all of the children of Israel could observe the feast, as commanded by God (Leviticus 23). In Judaism, it is known as the feast that "no one would know the day or the hour it came," because of the Diaspora and the time it took to light the fires on the mountaintops over the land. 

Another tradition and customary terminology used by Messiah and the children of Israel related to a Jewish wedding. In Jesus' day, weddings were arranged, so when someone would ask the son when his wedding day was, the son would say, "Only my Father knows." According to Jewish tradition, this was a typical saying among the children of Israel. Let us remember, Jesus is a Jew and spoke in Aramaic (Hebrew). When He spoke using these traditions and customary terminology, the children of Israel would have understood its reference point. Now, let us discover these traditions in the scriptures of the Holy Bible.

Matthew 24:36,40,44, "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

Messiah is prophesying about the Rapture (one will be taken and one left), as He explains that it will occur on the Feast of Trumpets (no one knows the day or hour - from the tradition above). In Messiah's time, the children of Israel were very familiar with the Diaspora, because it resulted in the Feast of Trumpets to be known as "the feast that nobody knew the day or the hour it came." When Jesus proclaims, "no one knows the day or hour," the children of Israel would have understood He was speaking about the Feast of Trumpets. In other words, Messiah is telling us that the Rapture will occur on the Feast of Trumpets by using a metaphor as its reference point. Furthermore, as Messiah concludes His prophecy, He gives us a parable about the master and the thief. One would think that if He did not want us to understand the Feast of Trumpets and its events (idioms), He would not have given us this parable for wisdom and understanding.

On Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets), the trumpet (shofar) is blown 100 times. There are three different sounds by the shofar (trumpet) on Rosh Hashanah; Tekiah, which is one long blast, Shevarim, which is three short blasts, and Teruah, which is nine quick blasts in succession. Teruah also means “sounding the alarm." In Numbers 10:9, God declares that “when the enemy comes to oppress you (Antichrist), if you blow an alarm with the shofar, He will remember you and save you from your enemy!” Hallelujah! 

The series is blown 11 times, totaling 99 blasts, and the last blast, the 100 blast, is known as Tekiah Gedolah, or the "Last Trump.” Below is an example of the shofar being blown 100 times in this sequence, Tekiah, Shevarim, Teruah, and Tekiah Gedolah. Tekiah Gedolah, the “Last Trump" is at the 2:10 mark.

The fourth feast, the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost), is known as the "First Trump.” The Feast of Trumpets is known as the "Last Trump," and the Feast of Yom Kippur is known as the "Great Trump" (Second Coming). Again, the “trumpets” align in sequence of the feasts, as the last trump (Trumpets-fifth feast) will be blown before the great trumpet (Yom Kippur-sixth feast).

1 Corinthians 15:51-53, "Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."

The apostle Paul is explaining that the “Rapture" will occur on the last trump, which is the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah). All believers, dead and alive, will be changed in the "twinkling of an eye,” when we hear the sound of Tekiah Gedolah (last trump). Believers will be transformed from corruptible to incorruptible, from mortal to immortal! We can have confidence that the “Last trump” will sound very similar to the example in the video, however, it will be the voice of the Lord! (See Exodus 19, Psalm 29, Revelation 1:10-11) This is why it would be wise to celebrate and “rehearse” the Feast of Trumpets so that we will know the joyful sound! On God's appointed year, the Rapture will occur on the Feast of Trumpets!

Psalm 89:15, "Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound (trumpet)!"

The Feast of Trumpets - The Seven Year Tribulation Period

Ezekiel 33:2-6, "Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon a land (tribulation period), and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’

The Feast of Trumpets is also a warning to those who “do not know the joyful sound of the shofar,” as the seven year tribulation period will begin on this day. The seven year tribulation period is the last seven years of the age before Messiah’s Second Coming and Millennial Reign. The Rapture and the first day of the seven year tribulation period will occur at the same time on Rosh Hashanah. As the "blessed people who know the joyful sound” will be “raptured” at this time, it will also be a warning that the seven year tribulation period has begun, as well (Revelation 4-19). The prophet Zephaniah prophesied about this horrific period of time in the future.

Zephaniah 1:14-16, "The great day of the Lord is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and alarm (Teruah/Trumpets) against the fortified cities and against the high towers."

Zephaniah proclaims that the seven year tribulation period will be a time of wrath, trouble, distress, desolation, and darkness. He also prophesies that the tribulation period will be "a day of trumpet and alarm (Teruah)," which tells us it will occur on the Feast of Trumpets. Make no mistake, the tribulation period will be the worst time in the history of the earth. The prophet Joel describes how terrible and destructive this time will be on the earth.

Joel 2:1-11, "Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm (Teruah) in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand: A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generations. A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; The land is like the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely nothing shall escape them. Their appearance is like the appearance of horses; And like swift steeds, so they run. With a noise like chariots over mountaintops they leap, like the noise of a flaming fire that devours the stubble, like a strong people set in battle array. Before them the people writhe in pain; All faces are drained of color. They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like men of war; Every one marches in formation, and they do not break ranks. They do not push one another; Every one marches in his own column. Though they lunge between the weapons, they are not cut down. They run to and fro in the city, they run on the wall; They climb into the houses, they enter at the windows like a thief. The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; The sun and moon grow dark, and the stars diminish their brightness. The Lord gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?"

Matthew 24:21-22, "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened."

The Rapture (Natsaw) is one of the most debated topics among Bible scholars and prophecy teachers. There are three common theories when the Rapture will occur; pre-Tribulation, mid-Tribulation, and post-Tribulation. Although as believers we should always be prepared for what may come and continue doing our part in the Great Commission, I am a pre-tribulation believer.

As the Rapture and the tribulation period will occur simultaneously, the "faithful" in Messiah will be delivered from this horrific time. The unfaithful will be left behind and tested. They will have a second chance during the tribulation period to accept Jesus as their Messiah. Let us review some of the passages that point to a pre-tribulation Rapture. 

Revelation 3:10-11, "Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth (tribulation period."

The hour of trial is the tribulation period, and Yeshua declares that He will keep the faithful believers from it. Please note, the book of Revelation is in chronological order (The things which were, the things which are, and the things which will be). The saints are mentioned eighteen times in chapters 1,2,3. Beginning in chapter 4, the saints are not mentioned until chapter 19. What happens in between chapters 4-19 is the seven year tribulation period (21 Judgments-7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 bowls). John speaks of the two witnesses, the Antichrist, 144,000 Jewish remnant, the angels, the false prophet, etc, but he never mentions the saints until Chapter 19-20 (Heaven and the Kingdom). Why? It is very clear that the saints will have been raptured simultaneously with the beginning of the tribulation period.

Luke 21:36, "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

At Messiah’s Olivet Discourse, He warns believers about the horrific events that will occur during the tribulation period. He proclaims that if the faithful believers pray and watch, then we will be counted worthy to escape from from this period of time.

Daniel 12:1-2, "At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt."

When Daniel declares, “at that time,” he is referring to the beginning of the tribulation period. Please note, Daniel chapters 10-12 is one prophecy, not three separate ones, so when Daniel writes “at that time,” he is speaking of at the time of the tribulation period, which begins in Daniel 11. Just because the translators divided the prophecy into three different chapters, does not mean it is three different prophecies. Daniel 10-12 is one continuous prophecy and should be understood that way. 

1 Thessalonians 5:1,4,9, “But concerning the times and the seasons (feasts), brethren, you have no need that I should write to you because you are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. For God did not appoint us to wrath (tribulation period), but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Paul tells the faithful Thessalonians that there is no need to discuss the feasts of the Lord with them, because they were faithful and watching, and "that Day" would not come upon them as a thief in the night. He continues to proclaim that "God did not appoint the faithful and watchful believers to wrath (tribulation period), but to obtain salvation through Messiah!"

Psalm 27:5, "For in the time of trouble (tribulation) He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock."

Come as a Thief in the Night

In the Holy Bible, Messiah and Paul use the phrase "thief in the night." In Jewish tradition, the high priest was known as a "thief in the night." Why? At night, the high priest would check on the temple guards to see if they were asleep while they were on duty. If they were, as punishment, the high priest would get coals from the alter and light the temple guard's clothes on fire. When the guards realized their clothes were on fire, they would shed their clothes and run through the temple courts naked to get more clothes. As a result, the high priest was known as a "thief in the night to those who were sleeping.” When Messiah and Paul taught in this terminology and tradition, the children of Israel would have understood its reference point, which is the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah).

Who will Messiah come to as a thief in the night?

The Lukewarm Church

Revelation 3:16-18, "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked-- I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see."

Messiah proclaims that the wealthy lukewarm church, which is neither hot nor cold, is truly “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked (tradition from above).” He continues to prophesy that if the lukewarm church becomes faithful (buy His gold refined in the fire), they will become rich (saved) and receive “white garments,” so that they are clothed and the shame of their nakedness (tradition above) will not be revealed. When Messiah speaks of “white garments,” He is referencing Revelation 19:11-16, as the faithful believers will be cleansed and clothed with “white garments” at the time of His Second Coming (Yom Kippur). Certainly, Messiah will come as a thief in the night to the lukewarm church, which is a prosperity-loving church that is really wretched, miserable, blind, poor, and naked!

Revelation 16:15, "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."

The Dead Church

Revelations 3:1-3, "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,'These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you."

Messiah is speaking to the "dead church," not the faithful church. He is warning the dead church to repent and watch, or He will come upon them as a thief in the night, which again refers to Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets.

Matthew 25:8-13, "And the foolish virgins said to the wise virgins, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding (Trumpets); and the door was shut. Afterward the foolish virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming."

Messiah is clearly speaking to the foolish virgins as they were not prepared and did not understand the time of His arrival. When the Lord states, "for you neither know the day nor the hour," He is referring to the Feast of Trumpets, the feast "no one knew the day or hour it came" because of the Diaspora. The wise virgins were watching and prepared, thus, understanding the time of His arrival.

Luke 12:35-46, "Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. 

Lord, do You speak this parable only to us, or to all people?"

And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has. But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers."

Messiah is speaking of the believers who are not watching for His Second Coming. This is the reason why Peter asked Him who this parable was for. Jesus (Yeshua) commands us to watch and not be like the master who let his home be broken into, or like the one who beat his servants and got drunk. Why would Messiah teach all of these parables if believers are not suppose to be watching and "rehearsing" for the final Feast of Trumpet events? If the Feast of Trumpets were not important, then Messiah would have simply said "nobody knows when I am coming," and ended the Scripture without using these parables for wisdom and understanding. 

Revelation 16:15, "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."

So, based on the Scriptures above, Messiah only comes as a thief in the night to the dead church, the lukewarm church, and the prosperity-loving church, which are those who are really blind, poor, wretched, miserable, and naked! On God's appointed year, the seven year tribulation will begin on the Feast of Trumpets!

Feast of Trumpets - Yom HaDin/ Day of Judgment/The Opening of the Books/Opening of the Gates 

The day of judgment, the opening of the books, and the opening of the gates, will take place on the Feast of Trumpets. Every year on Rosh Hashanah, there is a wise saying that the doors of the heavenly court are opened and court is in session. During the following ten days unto the Feast of Yom Kippur, God determines who will live and who will die the next year. On Yom Kippur, the doors of the court are closed and the judgment is meted out. So, the day of judgment at the end of the age will begin on the Feast of Trumpets, on God's appointed year. Therefore, this day is known as “the opening of the books and the opening of the gates. The apostle Paul explains that everyone must appear before the judgment seat of Messiah.

2 Corinthians 5:10, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad."

1 Corinthians 3:12-13, "Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day (Trumpets) will declare it."

The prophet Daniel had a vision of God sitting on His throne, as the books were opened and His judgment being meted out.

Daniel 7:9-10, "I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, its wheels a burning fire; A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened."

Daniel is prophesying about the Day of judgment, as the court was seated and the books were opened, which will occur on Rosh Hashanah (Trumpets). This is the exact same vision that the apostle John saw in Revelation, which will occur during the seven year tribulation period.

Revelation 4:1-2, "After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open (gate) in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne."

The apostle John is explaining that judgment day will begin on the Feast of Trumpets, as the gates are open, a voice was heard like a trumpet, and the Lord is sitting on His throne. Keep in mind that Revelation 4 is right before Revelation 6, which is when the first judgments (7 seals) of the seven year tribulation begin on the earth. In other words, the opening of the gates/books/judgment day, will begin before the 7 seals are opened. 

He then continues:

Revelation 5:11-13, "Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

John explains that all of mankind, including every creature that is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, and in the sea, will attend this event when the books are opened on Judgment Day. As prophesied, this is when every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess (Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11) glory and power to "Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!"

Revelation 20:11-12, "Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books."

The prophets Daniel and John had visions of the same event that will occur on Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets, which is the opening of the gates and the books for judgment day.

Psalm 24:7-10, "Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory."

Psalm 118:19-20, "Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will go through them, and I will praise the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord, through which the righteous shall enter."

The Lord has invited you to walk through His doors and gates, which will occur on Rosh Hashanah. Will you enter? If so, then it would be wise to celebrate the “dress rehearsal” as we prepare for this incredible event! On God's appointed year, Yom Hadin, the day of judgment, the opening of the books, and the opening of the gates, will occur on the Feast of Trumpets!

Feast of Trumpets - Yom Hakeseh-The Hidden Day-Unfulfilled

Yom Hakeseh, or the hidden day, is a mystery within the Feast of Trumpets. The prophet Isaiah declares that God’s people are to enter into their chambers, shut the doors, and “hide” themselves until the indignation (tribulation) is over, because the Lord will come to punish the world at His Second Coming (Yom Kippur). 

Isaiah 26:20-21, "Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past (tribulation). For behold, the Lord comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity (tribulation); The earth will also disclose her blood, and will no more cover her slain."

King David gives us understanding about the "hidden day,” as well, and explains that "in the time of trouble, He will hide the faithful in His tabernacle and set us high upon a rock.” Again, this confirms the “pre-tribulation” theory. 

Psalm 27:5, "For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock."

During the seven year tribulation, the Lord will hide His faithful and watchful people in His tabernacle! The prophet Zephaniah gives us insight on how horrific the Day of the Lord will be, and also the mystery behind the "hidden day."

Zephaniah 1:14-16, "The great day of the Lord is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and alarm against the fortified cities and against the high towers."

Zephaniah 2:1-4, "Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation, before the decree is issued, or the day passes like chaff, before the Lord’s fierce anger comes upon you, before the day of the Lord’s anger comes upon you! Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger."

On God's appointed year, Yom Hakeseh, the Hidden Day, will occur on the Feast of Trumpets!

Feast of Trumpets - Ha Kiddushin/Nisu’in/ Wedding of the Messiah 

Do you want to be at the Wedding of the Messiah?" I am sure that the answer is a resounding yes! Then, it would be wise to observe and celebrate the "dress rehearsal" of the wedding on the Feast of Trumpets until that glorious day comes, so that you will be wise virgin and not a foolish one (Matthew 25). If you were about to be married, would not your betrothed be upset with you for not attending the dress rehearsal before the wedding? Or if you were the Best Man or Maid of Honor at a wedding, and you skipped the dress rehersal, would not the bride and groom be upset with you for not attending? How would you understand what to do at the wedding? Assuredly, Messiah feels the same way if we do not pray, meditate, celebrate, and proclaim the dress rehearsals of His feasts, including the wedding that will occur on the Feast of Trumpets. 

The Holy Bible is a marriage covenant between Yeshua (Jesus), the bridegroom, and the believers in Him, His bride!

John 3:29, "He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice (trumpet)."

Not only are believers the bride, who are married to the Bridegroom (Jesus), but Jerusalem is also the bride, as well. 

Isaiah 62:5, "For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you." 

The prophet Isaiah is prophesying about Jerusalem (Zion) in Isaiah 62, not individual believers. The prophets John and Hosea also confirm that Jerusalem is the bride, as well.

Revelation 21:2, "Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."

Hosea 2:19-20, "I will betroth you (Israel) to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord."

The prophet Joel also gives us great insight into this incredible day, as the Bridegroom (Messiah) will come out of His chamber and the bride from her dressing room!

Joel 2:15-16, "Blow the trumpet in Zion (Jerusalem), consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, and the bride from her dressing room."

The Hebrew word for “dressing room” is chuppah, which is a traditional wedding canopy under which Jewish couples are married. Joel explains that the Wedding of Messiah and His bride will occur at the sound of the trumpet, which refers to the Feast of Trumpets. At Messiah's wedding, both man and woman will become righteous with the Lord!

Jeremiah 23:5-6, "Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which HE will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS."

Jeremiah 33:15-16, "In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name by which SHE will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.’

Who will be able to attend the Wedding of Messiah? Only the Jews and Gentiles that believe God has raised Yeshua from the dead, and have confessed with their mouth that He is the Messiah of the world! When a person becomes saved by the Lord, that person is loved tremendously by Him, just as a bridegroom loves His bride! 

Romans 10:8-10, "But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

John 14:1-4, "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know."

In Matthew 22, Messiah tells the parable of a wedding feast. He proclaims that the kingdom of heaven is like a king who held a marriage for his son, and he sent his servants to call those who had been sent personal invitations to the wedding. However they would not come! So, the king sent more servants, telling those that it was time for the wedding. Nevertheless, the people made light of it, went their own way, being more concerned about worldly pleasures. Finally, the king states that those who were initially invited to the wedding were no longer worthy to come, as they declined the invitation. So, the king commissioned the servants to invite all of the people they could find, so the wedding would be furnished with guests (Matthew 22:1-11).

The King has sent out His personal invitation for you to come to the Wedding of His Son. Will you accept it?

Matthew 22:14, “For many are called, but few are chosen."

Revelation 19:7-9, "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”

On God's appointed year, and according to the Holy Bible, Ha Kiddushin (Nesuin), the wedding of the Messiah, will occur on the Feast of Trumpets!

Feast of Trumpets-Ha Melech/Coronation of the Messiah 

The final event that will occur on Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets, is the Coronation of Messiah as King!

Psalm 98:6-9, "With trumpets and the sound of a horn; Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King (Feast of Trumpets). Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell in it; Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world (Second Coming-Yom Kippur), and the peoples with equity.” 

Before Messiah comes to judge the earth on the Feast of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement (Second Coming), He is coronated as King! Remember, the feasts of the Lord will occur in the exact order as stated in Leviticus 23. So, the Feast of Yom Kippur will come after all of the events (idioms) of the Feast of Trumpets, including the coronation of Messiah as King. Now, let us begin the coronation of Messiah as King with "the giving of the decree."

Giving the Decree

Psalm 2:6-7, "Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.” "I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You." The rod and the scepter is given to Messiah."

Genesis 49:10, "The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh (Hell) comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people."

Hebrews 1:8, "But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom."

Ceremony of the Taking of the Throne

Revelation 4:1-11, "After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.” Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne (Messiah). And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."

The Acclamation and People Come and Pledge Allegiance

Psalm 50:4-5, "He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people: "Gather My saints together to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice."

Psalm 47 is known as the coronation song, and it most likely will be sung at Messiah's coronation.

Psalm 47: "Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph! For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth. He will subdue the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet. He will choose our inheritance for us, the excellence of Jacob (Israel) whom He loves. Selah. God has gone up with a shout, The Lord with the sound of a trumpet. Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding. God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne. The princes of the people have gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is greatly exalted."

On God's appointed year, Ha Melech, the Coronation of the Messiah will occur on the Feast of Trumpets!

In conclusion, the Feast of Trumpets is symbolized with trumpets (shofars), alarms, and shouting throughout the Holy Bible. The "idioms" for the Feast of Trumpets are: The Rapture (Day of the awakening blast), the seven year tribulation period, the day of judgment (opening of the books and of the gates), the hidden day, the wedding of Messiah, and the coronation of Messiah. On God's appointed year or years, these events will happen in exact order on the Feasts of Trumpets.
