“Fears are nothing more than a state of mind.”?-Napolean Hill
Fear, anxiety, and worry are common challenges faced by everyone at some point throughout our lives. If they become a chronic state, they can cause physical illness, drive poor choices, destroy relationships, lead to substance abuse, and even violence.?
How can you be free from the chains of anxiety??
Understanding where these feelings come from is the key to unleashing the grip they hold on your life.?
Anxiety is future thinking that develops an imaginary life of its own, while depression is reliving the past accompanied by repetitive thoughts about it. The hallmark of both is the false hope of changing the outcome of the past or controlling events in the future. These thought patterns rob you of the only life you really have… this moment right now.
It is possible to allow fearful thoughts about what might happen in the future, or painful memories of the past to pass through you, without allowing them to take root — by simply ignoring them.?
How can I ignore unhealthy thoughts?
When you do not engage with or focus on transient fearful or other troubling thoughts that show up in your mind, new and different thoughts will arise quickly to take their place. If you focus your attention on the present, you can come to the realization that at this moment, right now, you are safe from imminent harm, where the horrors you are imagining are not actually occurring in real time.?

With your full attention on the present moment, you are in a much better position to experience promptings from your inner spirit, that will provide you with direction. Problems cease to be problems when you make this a regular practice.
“Most of the stress and anxiety that we experience in life, comes from the erroneous yet, innocent belief that external circumstances determine our capabilities. We fail to grasp that every living thing arrives into mortality, with an innate, inner compass, hard-wired within them. This innate self-correcting system can always be accessed within the context of silence and a quiet mind. In the silent pause between thoughts, this power is waiting to be recognized. Where there is even a nanosecond of space between the constant barrage of external stimuli and obsessive thoughts swirling about in our brain, insights are there, awaiting your discovery.” (Excerpt from Reflections on Transcendence - Second Edition)
Know that you possess timeless wisdom within, that is always underneath the surface of your thinking mind.?
As you reflect on this awesome power within you (if only for the briefest moment),? your fears, anxieties, and sadness will melt away, with light and wisdom, arising from within you, to take their place.?
Listen for that voice within… the voice that will bring you peace and inner calm. It is always there,?underneath the mental noise. Your power lies in the present.
